DOCTOR STRANGE---Rachel McAdams (TRUE DETECTIVE) confirmed she's in talks to star opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, "It's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all." McAdams added that she's not a "comic book snob".
TOP GUN 2---Tom Cruise commented on the sequel about manned combat aircraft versus drones, "... it'd be fun to do, I'd like to fly those jets again, but we got to do all the jets practical, no CGI on the jets... I'm saying right now no CGI on the jets. If we can figure all that out, and the Department of Defense will allow us to do it, that would be fun."
STAR TREK: RENEGADES---the independently-produced tv pilot will have its theatrical premiere in Los Angeles on August 1. The pilot stars Walter Koenig, Tim Russ, Sean Young, Adrienne Wilkinson, Robert Picardo and Edward Furlong. The plot has the Federation's supply of dilithium crystals disappearing as Federation planets are being isolated by a mysterious time and space warp. Admiral Pavel Chekov asks Commander Tuvok to form a team of renegades to investigate the warp. The renegade leader is Captain Lexxa Singh, a descendant of Khan Noonen Singh.
STAR TREK BEYOND---Joe Taslim (THE RAID, FURIOUS SIX) has joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE---Jonathan Aris (SHERLOCK) will play Senator Jebel in the movie.
DOCTOR WHO---Steven Moffat said a female Doctor Who may be possible after Peter Capaldi finishes his run. However former Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy said, "I'm a feminist and recognize there are still glass ceilings in place for many women, but where would we draw the line? A Mr. Marple instead of Miss Marple? A Tarzanette? I'm sorry, but no – Doctor Who is a male character, just like James Bond. If they changed it to be politically correct then it would ruin the dynamics between the doctor and the assistant, which is a popular part of the show."
AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL---model Naomi Campbell has joined the cast as “a fashion editor who pays the ultimate price for her critiques.”
ROUNDING THIRD---comedy baseball movie underway based on the play in which a Little League coach and his assistant clash over the est way to win. John C. McGinley (SCRUBS) and Garret Dillahunt (DEADWOOD) star.
The plot to Star Trek: Renegades sounds like a middle-schooler's fan fiction. Maybe Paramount will remake it as the fourth in the Star (Wars) Trek line.

Well there was a Tarzanette, but she was called Sheena.

Good God -- not just the plot. Did you see the trailer? This makes The Final Frontier look like the second coming of Mark Twain. It was embarrasing to watch. Russ thought this was a good idea???

Did I see Andrew Robinson in the second trailer? If so, I'll watch it.
EDIT: No, I didn't. Wishful thinking, I guess. He would certainly uplift the project.
With all due respect to lovely Sylvester McCoy, Dr Who is not a locked-down literary adaptation. It's a constantly evolving science fiction TV show - in other words you can do whatever the hell you like with it. I heard about rumours of a female Doctor even when I was a kid in the 70s! Bring it on finally! About time too (no tired old pun intended).

She would be good for the role of Clea, Doctor Strange's "best girl."
