I wonder if I'm the only person who will miss the "20th Century Fox Fanfare" when Episode VII opens. The Fanfare has for me been such an indelible part of the films musically, I know that I'll miss it when the film opens and things just won't seem quite the same.

Perhaps Disney will commission something equally memorable for this new trilogy?

Williams has already tackled "When You Wish Upon A Star" (for CE3K). Perhaps he'll give it another go.

Any such magic the opening fanfare had got killed when I saw the prequels. But I agree, I love those openings logos, on the Alien movies as well (and love what they did for Alien 3 in that regard).

Disney has shown enthusiasm in past releases for film-specific variations on their own logo. Let's see what they come up with.

I would bet my house that there's no Disney logo before the film. Just Lucasfilm.

I would guess that too, SchiffyM. Pixar movies use the logo, but Marvel does not, correct? I'm guessing the SW movies will be handled more like the Marvel movies are in most respects.

A brassy, Imperialesque treatment would be pretty cool.

My hope is for something similar to the Marvel Logo with its flipping pages of its own comics.

For Lucasfilm, I'd like to see a quick montage of its own properties (that Disney can use, of course) with a dynamic & dramatic reveal of the logo that we are already familiar with. Add to that a nice Fanfare whether original or using some elements of classic themes...

Wasn't this already discussed? It thought it was widely known (assumed) that a new Lucasfilm fanfare - reworking Williams' rebel fanfare - would open the movie...?

This is the one I put together. Disney already has a march fanfare.

This was the one before the recent digital releases ( or all them but A New Hope)

I agree completely. I will not have that same feeling that a Star Wars movie is about to begin without having the 20th Century Fox Fanfare there.

Disney should license the FOX fanfare music for the film. It can come after what ever Disney logo they use. But knowing how Disney and FOX are at war with one another I guess even if Disney was willing to pay for the licensing, FOX wouldn't allow it.

No corporation would ever allow that, no matter the circumstance. They spend years developing a corporate identity. That's not for sale.

They should just whip up a quick soundalike. Shouldn't be hard - advertisers do it every Christmas when they don't want to pony up the cash for Elfman's "Ice Dance."

(jk of course - I'd love for them to have Williams come up with a new Lucasfilm fanfare during these sessions. I didn't care for their editorial mess from the digital editions of the Star Wars movies at all)

That's pretty excellent, however I seriously doubt that Disney will agree to run a full minute from WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY in place of some kind of company logo.
