MONDAY, AUGUST 3

JURASSIC WORLD 2---Colin Trevorrow hinted about the next sequel, "[It will not be] just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island. That’ll get old real fast….I feel like the idea that this isn’t always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment. And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and later on we found it could be used for energy...What if this went open source? It’s almost like InGen is Mac, but what if PC gets their hands on it? What if there are 15 different entities around the world who can make a dinosaur?"
He added, “And Dr Wu says in the film, when he’s warning Dr Mesrani, ‘We’re not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur’. I think that’s an interesting idea that even if we don’t explore fully in this film, there is room for this universe to expand. I shouldn’t use the word universe, because people will think we’re making a JURASSIC WORLD universe – we’re not.”

GAME OF THRONES---Ian McShane (DEADWOOD) will join the cast in an undisclosed role that “has a relatively small amount of screen-time during the season, yet his character is of key importance.”

SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO!---Subway's former spokesman Jared Fogle had his cameo deleted from the Syfy sequel after FBI agents raided his home in search of computer files containing children's pornography. Now the FBI has subpoenaed Fogle's text messages in which he allegedly told a former Subway employee, who he had an affair with, that he paid a 16 year-old girl $100 for sex. He also suggested to the ex-employee that she advertise on Craigslist offering sex at $500 per customer and then asked if he could watch. The ex-employee replied, “Is this the same website you found that 16-year-old girl that you f-ked… I still can’t believe you only paid $100 for her.” Fogle allegedly replied, “It was amazing!!!!” He also wanted to meet the ex-employee's underage cousin.

DOCTOR WHO---Steven Moffat said Maisie Williams (GAME OF THRONES), who will guest star next season, is not a, "returning character or someone in the Doctor's past. Her role will develop in an unexpected way. Once you see what she's up to you'll appreciate what a clever idea [the role] was. It's a significant role, we're not just throwing her away. It's a great part and she's terrific in it."
He said about a theatrical movie, "First that would be up to the BBC. What are we going to do? Shut down for a year and make a movie? Does everyone want that - a whole movie and not a series? If there's a movie, you can't have a different doctor in the movie - that would be incredibly damning to the franchise."
Moffat said about the SHERLOCK Christmas special being set in the Victorian era, "We never bothered explaining what they were doing in modern London, so why bother explaining what they're doing in Victorian London, when that's where they're supposed to be?"

ASH VS. EVIL DEAD---Starz released the first official photo of Lucy Lawless in the series.

The plot involves a teenage boy who was the first human born on Mars after his mother died giving birth. He and a girl from Colorado he has fallen in love with embark on a journey to locate the billionaire who funded the original Mars expedition and find out who is mother really was.

THE WEST---new AMC Western eight-episode series about iconic Western figures including Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid, Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull.
AMC also renewed THE MAKING OF THE MOB for Season 2.

ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS---Robin Hood origin movie with the following candidates for the lead role: Jason Egerton (KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE), Dylan O'Brien (THE MAZE RUNNER), Nicholas Hoult (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS), Jack Huston (BOARDWALK EMPIRE) and Jack Reynor (TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION).

MY FIGHT/YOUR FIGHT---Ronda Rousey will star in this Paramount Pictures movie based on her autobiography.

PEZ---animated movie underway based on the classic candy and its dispenser. The script is by Cameron Fay (THE THREE STOOGES).

STUART LITTLE---Sony Pictures remake of the 1999 movie is underway that will be more faithful to the EB White children's book.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS---Warner Bros. movie based on the game is underway after legal issues were recently settled. The script is by David Leslie Johnson (THE CONJURING 2, WRATH OF THE TITANS).

SLEEPY HOLLOW---Season 3 will have a new villain with the Headless Horseman not returning. Also not returning are Orlando Jones, Katia Winter, John Noble and Matt Barr. Zach Appelman returns as Joe Corbin.

Nothing - and I mean NOTHING - in Heaven or on Earth will be as entertaining as the original crap-fest du jour that was the 2000 film. Jeremy Irons, possessed by the spirit of Raul Julia in Street Fighter, starts at one corner of the film, unhinges his jaw like a Burmese Python and for the next 100 minutes, slowly swallows the entire film without stopping to chew scenery.

It is the most glorious of disasters. I quite nearly vomited from laughing so hard at the acting and SFX - but Irons was something else entirely. Something... beyond human.

And it spawned sequels! (I've never seen them).

ASH VS. EVIL DEAD---Starz released the first official photo of Lucy Lawless in the series.

Looking forward to this but I'm wondering - are they shooting this at the original Evil Dead cabin?

Oh, they've only just sussed that out after four movies.

That was the last time Lucy was going to use that portaloo smile

A Dungeons & Dragons film adapting the Dragon Lance novels would be awesome.

I watched a commentary track recently and Campbell suggested that it burnt down sometime in the 80s. Oh, i may have misunderstood, if you mean is it set at the original cabin. Not sure about that. Maybe it'd get a cameo?

You are also very right about the original Dungeons & Dragons. I hope Irons brings that level of performance to Alfred in Batman v Superman.
