I like how the "B section" ("You're my dream come true . . .") mimics, or references, Conti's "Rocky" main theme. It reinforces the melodic idea in the audience's memory and lends the score a musical cohesiveness.
Always loved this song and the great vocals. Not surprisingly there's an alternate or earlier version in the ROCKY film itself which has never been released. It's featured as underscoring the scene where Rocky seduces Adrian in his apartment. If you listen closely it's a bare bones recording but with a neat and obvious trumpet riff that is not replicated on the album version.
Maybe one day this little gem will eventually see the light of day.
