Sony has announced the October 6th, 2015 re-release of Bram Stoker's Dracula in a highly demanded new restoration presentation, replacing the previous, and controversial, release from early in the Blu-ray format's lifespan. The new release will debut Sony's "Supreme Cinema Series." Sony says of the new line, "The Supreme Cinema Series is a premium, limited edition collection befitting beloved cinematic favorites and modern classics. Each film is presented with pristine high definition picture, enhanced sound and a collection of new and/or archival special features, creating an ultimate edition for first-time viewers and fans alike. Complete with unique Clear Case packaging, the Supreme Cinema Series is the optimal way to celebrate these unforgettable cinematic experiences."

Bram Stoker's Dracula will be available as a standard "Supreme Cinema Series" release as well as a limited edition collectible version which will include a high-end clear-case packaging and a 24-page booklet with a new introduction from Director Francis Ford Coppola.

Hopefully they will go back to the original color palette and not use the horrible coloring book they used in the last release.

I've never seen this, I don't know why, it's my kind of film. I was put off the Blu-ray by bad comments on the PQ, it should be interesting to read reviews on this one. The new Sony Supreme Cinema Series sounds interesting, 4K scans presumedly from the OCN. I wonder what other films they're working on for the series, maybe Bad Boys 2 will get a look in.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that it will add two new titles to its recently revealed Supreme Cinema Series. They are director Luc Besson's Leon: The Professional (1994), starring Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman, Danny Aiello, and Peter Appel, and The Fifth Element (1997), starring Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm, Milla Jovovich, and Chris Tucker. The two releases will be available for purchase on October 27.

Léon: The Professional

Jean Reno (Crimson Rivers) stars with Gary Oldman (Batman Begins) and Natalie Portman (Star Wars: Episodes I-III). When a psychotic Federal Agent (Oldman) wipes out her entire family, twelve-year-old Mathilda (Portman) is taken in be her neighbor, Leon (Reno), a quiet man whose only interests are his houseplants, movie musicals and killing people. Leon's a professional assassin, a gentle soul who happens to be the best hit man in the business. When the revenge-obsessed waif insists on becoming his protege, Leon reluctantly agrees and begins teaching her the tricks of his trade. But when Mathilda's rash attempt to murder the Fed ends in her capture, it's up to Leon to try to rescue the girl before it's too late.

The Fifth Element

Two hundred and fifty years in the future, life as we know it is threatened by the arrival of Evil. Only the fifth element (played by Milla Jovovich) can stop the Evil from extinguishing life, as it tries to do every five thousand years. She is helped by ex-soldier, current-cab-driver, Corben Dallas (played by Bruce Willis), who is, in turn, helped by Prince/Arsenio clone, Ruby Rohd. Unfortunately, Evil is being assisted by Mr. Zorg (Gary Oldman), who seeks to profit from the chaos that Evil will bring, and his alien Mercenaries.

I recently tried to watch Fifth Element on Blu ray.
I found it much less - well --less, than I did before.
The terribly obvious rubber masks just bounced me out of the whole thing.
