Yes, his crew is dying, and he's getting right on that. He's just going to shoot some pool and go dancing first. But I still love this episode, because - I like Rayna so much - We get a scene with the three-foot Enterprise miniature - The piano waltz is nice - The score is tracked with tons of good music.

Kirk did what he did because he knew things would all work out, like always. It was a simpler time, the future. No one is mentioning the most outrageous part of the episode - where Spock takes it upon himself to wipe Kirk's memory! Um, thanks, didn't want you to eff with my mind, old buddy! I NEED my pain!

Is there a running count of the female conquests of Captain James "Whip it out" Kirk in his 3 year TOS Mission? Based on the episodes that aired. In fact, there are hardly any. He kisses a bunch of women, but there usually isn't time to do more. During the course of the series, he definitely sleeps with Drusilla, Deela, and Miramanee. He probably sleeps with Lenore Karidian, Edith Keeler, Odona, Elaan, and the fake Ruth in Shore Leave. That makes a high of 7 or 8, depending on how you interpret some of those episodes and whether you count android replicas of old girlfriends. He does a little better than Spock and McCoy, but given the number of episodes in which he appears, Kirk's reputation always seems a bit exaggerated to me in that respect. He is far from some kind of interstellar James Bond.

I dont think you mentioned the women he bedded in his past who show up in: Dagger of the Mind, Court Martial, Deadly Years, Turnabout Intruder. No one is mentioning the most outrageous part of the episode - where Spock takes it upon himself to wipe Kirk's memory! Um, thanks, didn't want you to eff with my mind, old buddy! I NEED my pain! Aye laddie, but Kirk does say he wished he could forget her....and he's got plenty of pain left over, as Scotty will testify to: I've seen the captain feverish, sick, drunk, delirious, terrified, overjoyed, boiling mad.

I guess Spock is just like his brother Sybok, 'cept he doesn't ask permission first....

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere on this board in the past 18 years, but was the piece that Spock played on the piano composed for the episode? I've always thought that piece was absolutely beautiful.
