Wondering if anyone can I.D. this electronica piece used in the previews for Star Trek: The Next Generation in the original syndication broadcasts in the early 1990s:
Good lord, I had a love/hate relationship with that damned piece of music. It was addictive and I still think of it now and again. But at the same time, back in the day, it felt like preview music more appropriate for 21 Jump Street.
Having said that, if anyone finds it, I would love to hear it on its own.
I used to think that ST: TNG and TX-F had some of the worst announcer voice and dialogue written for previews. But they've had that blown out of the water by "The World's Wildest Magic" special from 1997 (missing from IMDb until I added it).

Keep in mind that a lot of those were done for different markets - people in NYC didn't necessarily have the same ads in Arizona. And I vividly remember WPIX switching from their "usual" announcer to the famous Don LaFontaine towards the end of the show's run (Season 6 or so).

In AZ we always had LaFontaine. "Next time on Starrrrrr Trek: The NEXT Generation!"
I was actually going to post Frakes singing the TNG theme as an add-on to my previous post (he did it on one of the bloopers) but I found an even cooler video:
There are some priceless outtakes of Ernie Anderson floating around. In my favorite, he screws up "special guest" for some show and after a couple of F-bombs declares, "There is no special guest. He's just a guest."
It's "colorful" watching him at work, to say the least.
This is a nice look at giant, noisy late-80s production equipment as Ernie works. Similar gem moments include "Who the f*** wrote this?" and "What a piece of s***". The clip ends with "What a nauseous f***in' piece of s***."
All right my friends, sometimes I even amaze myself...I actually found this thing! You're welcome! Lukas
congratulations on the successful sleuthing. I'm sure some completist will appreciate it....just like the disco "Ape Shuffle" for the TV "Planet of the Apes."
