Well, first one person will score it, then it will be tossed. Some of that may or may not wind up in the film. Then a second person will score it and it will be tossed. Some of that may or may not wind up in the film. Then a third person will score it and some of it will remain in the film but be cut up and moved around and other people will contribute extra cues. Then Mann will blame the composers if any speaks out. That much we do know. ;-)

Mann may be a nightmare to work with, but he does know what he's doing. All of his films make great use of music. Anyway, I wouldn't mind Daniel Pemberton being one of the dozen composers who'll probably work on the film

Are there any known composers who in the past declined his offer to compose the score because of his "editing choices"? Jan Hammer left Miami Vice of his own choice. I don't know if it had anything to do with Mann though.

According to IMDB, Marco Beltrami has been cast for this. Could be interesting. I always look forward to a new Mann, and the scores are almost always good in one form or another. Unfortunately, however, he no longer directs this, only produces. James Mangold is the director. Uninspired choice. I'm pretty sure Mann had chosen another composer had he directed this.
