A very entertaining pulpy novel from Graham Masterton. There's been a series of sequel novels, each less satisfying than the previous one.

The movie is just bad, just awful but very watchable in a trainwreck way. A very nice Schrifin score which would make for a great CD.

I think the film is an absolute masterpiece. i wish all films were this unrelentingly entertaining.

I would deeply appreciate your inquiry about this film here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/902349343110685/

I'm aware of the many who think the film is dreadful. It does however have its admirers. I'm thinking particularly of a friend who works in film restoration who has a special fondness for Schifrin's score.

I liked the book better than the movie.
The movie is unintentionally funny. This is a good thing or a bad thing depending how you see the film.
The cast is great and so is the score.
If you don't take horror films too seriously, I'd recommend it.
