THE LAST BOY SCOUT: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1331
Music by Michael Kamen
Limited Edition of 3000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $19.98

STARTS SHIPPING AUGUST 25th

ORDER “THE LAST BOY SCOUT: LIMITED EDITION” at www.lalalandrecords.com on AUGUST 25 starting at 12noon (PST).

La-La Land Records and Warner Bros. present the world premiere release of renowned composer Michael Kamen’s (BRAZIL, LETHAL WEAPON, DIE HARD, THE IRON GIANT) original motion picture score to the 1991 Warner Bros. action/thriller THE LAST BOY SCOUT, starring Bruce Willis, Damon Wayans and Danielle Harris and directed by Tony Scott. Composer Kamen reunites with producer Joel Silver to deliver another expertly-pitched score that bolsters and unifies the varied components of this unique Shane Black-penned gumshoe action/thriller/mystery, which has now achieved bonafide cult status. Noir-ish suspense, black comedy, violent action – Kamen’s score handles it all with aplomb, even as it cuts against the action/blockbuster grain with its soulful and understated motifs. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Stephen Marsh, this limited edition release of 3000 units also contains Bonus Tracks, as well as the rousing faux-primetime-network-football anthem featured in the film, “Friday Night’s a Great Night for Football,” performed by Bill Medley. Exclusive, in-depth liner notes from writer Jeff Bond and attractive art-direction from Dan Goldwasser drive this must-have release into the end zone!

Stoked to finally have this. Kamen rocks. Love the begining blast of the orchestra in that fanfare. Give this 2 fingers on the five finger scale. Movie joke.

Shouldn't it be more of a 4-5 on the finger scale?

Well Robin Hood would be a 4/5... most scores I wouldn't give one so 2 is pretty good...

Just a quick note

This is not the complete score...it's nearly complete though. I think there is about 3 minutes missing...it could not be located

Sure, sure, I know... it just happened. Coulda happened to anybody. It was an accident, right? You tripped, slipped on the floor and accidentally lost the remaining 3 minutes from this score. "Whoops! I'm so sorry, Mr. M. I guess this just isn't my week!"

Joe Hallenbeck found out about this release and paid a visit to the LLLR store.

LLLR: Can we make a formal announcement here?

JH: Who gives a f***! You’re the record label that’s releasing Michael Kamen’s The Last Boy Scout, right?

LLLR: We are “the record label that’s releasing Michael Kamen’s The Last Boy Scout” .

JH: And I’m suppose be ordering the score in fear of it selling out, something like that?

LLLR: Something like that. Yeah.

JH: Fine. I’ll start ordering in a minute. In the mean time you think I can have a drink?

After receiving the CD Joe began to dance a jig.

Can you tell us what is missing? The album looks pretty comprehensive.

The music for the "I'm awake" scene (below) appears to be lost, as well as the cue heard when Marcone explains the assassination plot to Joe over a drink.

If it had come out in 1991 the running time would be closer to 38:10 (or even 28:10) than 78:10, so we can live with a few missing pieces. (Having Darian put away her foul mouth at the end of the movie is more of a disappointment. frown )

Not bother it's not complete at all! At least it's just 3 min. out of 78, not 9 out of over 60 (as with NIMH)
Even b**t gave us just 55-60 min. You give us 78 (!!!).
And as I already got shipping notice, I started dancing a jig smile

Just what I was thinking. Even with the missing music, it's longer than the...other thing.

MV, for a dancer, you're a hell of a soundtrack producer.

If that is it then that is very minor so not a deal breaker. Thanks for clearing it up.

In other news I have received an email to tell me Employee3 from La La Land has sent me a package! Yay! Thank you Employee3.
