I am really getting disgusted with Amazon and their coercive selling practices. I am a Prime member and was shopping for housewares. I went to checkout for an order under $25 -- and I suddenly received an alert that 1 of the items was specially priced -- BUT only if I ordered more than $25. If I didn't place more items to bring the order over $25, that specially priced item would be taken out of my shopping cart and set aside until I placed an order for more than $25. If this kind of aggressive, coercive, heavy-handed selling practice continues, I’ll stop buying from Amazon and let my Prime membership run out without renewal. I'd rather go with smaller, more buyer-friendly, vendors. It felt like I was buying from an aggressive used-car salesman. Amazon used to be relatively hassle-free – this kind of selling tactic, I am hoping, should backfire big-time.

They offer consumers low enough prices that they can afford to bully their employees, their suppliers, and their customers.

You can stop autorenew by removing the payment information. I checked into it because I was really tee-ed off!

I assume we're talking about this: Add-on Items - Add-on Items ship with orders that include $25 or more of items shipped by Amazon. As someone who has been a Primer for a decade, I'll offer a counter opinion. I think this is perfectly reasonable - these are very cheap items, usually discounted significantly, that are easy to include in an existing package but not if the free shipping is going to make it problematic. Since for years I would take the free shipping at $25 before I became a Prime Member, I completely understand this and it's no skin off my back at all. As to that sale-to-Prime members only thing, I have to say I've never run into that myself, so I'm wondering how widespread it is.....
