Question, do you ask other great labels, "hey Intrada/La-La Land can you just release all your CDs once per month so in a year I can cut my shipping charges in half? Each month you get a limited edition CD similar to all the other great labels. We all have the choice to buy what we want!

If they asked me to agree to them all upfront, with the knowledge that the CD packaging was barely thicker than a sheet of A4, then yes I would. And where do you get half from? I didn't say Varese were charging *double* what was required, I said they were charging *TEN TIMES* what was required.

Each month you are guaranteed a limited edition CD from our LP to CD program. I'm happy fans can get at least one a month. I'm also glad the other labels release GREAT titles as well. I have never asked a label to release all their scores in one setting just so I could save on shipping. Hope you are happy with our LP to CD program McD!!

How does one know if they are the lucky 500th customer? Is the discount applied automatically at checkout or do you just have to gamble and place an order and hope that half your money gets refunded back to you if you are the lucky winner?

That's the fun of playing the lottery. When you buy a ticket you don't know if you will win, either.

Unfortunately winning the lottery has replaced any hopes of living the American dream. What's my point? I forget.

I think it's a cool idea. I know that everything is relative, but if you're used to spending, say, 40 dollars a month on CDs, you'd be mad to spend 400 simply on the off-chance of getting it all for 200. I'd maybe up my usual 40 dollars to 60 for once, and if I'm lucky I get it for 30. A nice little surprise!

Graham,

I really hope that you picked up the Perseverance release of Tangerine Dream's THIEF with the Craig Safan cue added. I had an email correspondence interview with Craig, and he answered a lot of questions concerning his involvement after TD had left for Europe.

All the best.

JP

James,

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I must be honest - I didn't get THIEF.

This is going to be a little off-topic, so I'll be quick - Sometimes I wonder if I'm a real film music aficionado... so many huge, surprising gaps in my collection. Maybe worthy of a new thread?

The Safan cue is almost like the basis for everything Mann ever did subsequently. I'm amazed he never went back to Safan given the impression it must have had on him.

That's one of the things I've found frustrating about his career: the opportunities were there and he did a number on all of them, but still never made it to the A list. No idea why.
