Haven't seen this mentioned, so thought I'd post this for folks who are buying vinyl these days. The expanded Silva is getting a 2 LP version in October.
This what i call a nice surprise and a major title,i was a little disapointed than intrada first vinyl will be warlock(very bizzare choice,am not sure than this the title than everybody wanted to dead)so legend is very welcomed.

Note how Warlock has come back from the dead to eff up Tony's post into incomprehensibility - be careful talking about warlocks, they are subtle and quick to anger.
That's one gorgeous cover. I have this score on CD twice. The Up-Art original LP programme and the Silva expansion. There are some nice additional moments in the expanded edition, but the original 'highlights' selections are pretty sweet too...and it's the version I grew up with. Both covers pale in comparison to that lovely imagery.
@Sean Nethery.Warlock is one of the most annoying score i have ever heard by Goldsmith, but most of the time die hard fan absolutly without any objectivity want see any Goldsmith score fantastic, and if you can write french like i can write english, well just show me,connard.
This is a beautiful looking set. I am still hoping for a new CD with extra tracks with improved sound. The 1992 and 2002 Silva Editions, and the new 2LP set, sound very good, but I would appreciate a newly remastered compact disc with Jeff Bond liner notes! I man can dream, can't he? As far as I am aware, there is still a smattering of cues that were left off the program, and some alternates out there too. Plus the old UpArt release has some bars of music omitted from the Silva, in particular the french horn for the intro of The Unicorns. I know I am beating a dead unicorn here, but this is a list of the cues that I think are the complete score:
1. Main Title/The Goblins 2. My True Love's Eyes/The Cottage 3. The Unicorns 4. Living River/Bumps and Hollows/The Freeze 5. The Faeries/The Riddle 6. Sing the Wee 7. Forgive Me 8. Faerie Dance 9. Pan Fight* 10. The Armour 11. Oona/The Jewels 12. Hall of Columns* 13. Dress Waltz 14. Darkness Chant* 15. Darkness Fails 16. The Ring 17. Re-United
The Silva LEGEND 2LP Set is a superlative release. I heartily recommend any Goldsmith and Vinyl fan to get this LP set while it's still available. About as flawless a vinyl record as you will ever find!
I communicated with Silva about the technical details (and my compliments and thanks) and they kindly responded. This set was Mastered to DMM (Direct Metal Mastering instead of Lacquer Master) and pressed at Optimal in Germany to 180g black vinyl.
I would appreciate a newly remastered compact disc with Jeff Bond liner notes!
Something wrong with mine?
Dear Mr MacLean,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your notes!! I am very sorry if I offended you in any way. I "spoke" without thinking. As a matter of fact, I was just telling a friend how the LEGEND disc from 1992, is such a stellar release for the in depth liner notes alone. It was a rare thing to get the comprehensive attention to detail for soundtracks back then. My copy is very dog eared. I have pored over your notes on many an occasion. Again, my apologies.

And the master will NOT get any better as only one source left in existence and that you have...and NO extra tracks for the same reason...count yourself lucky that I rescued from the skip what I could!
