So, how comes that John Morris is the credited composer of "The Producers" including "Springtime for Hitler" and "Prisoners of Love" songs and Mel Brooks takes the whole credit for the musical?

it does seem like mr morris has had a bum deal as time has gone on.

am i right in thinking his credit has changed from original LPs to Cds?
ive never looked it up to check, maybe its unfounded but a Morris collector i know rages about his apparent airbrushing from history.

perhaps a deal was done behind closed doors which he was happy with?
i was gonna say who knows, but maybe somebody does?

he will be 89 in oct, it seems.

What a non-issue!

Can't John Morris fans be troubled to read the tiny print in the CD booklets or even the opening title sequences of the films themselves?!

This is the Information Age! Try IMDB:

All the songs in the '67 film which made it into the Broadway show were composed entirely by Brooks. Perhaps you're thinking of "Blazing Saddles" (title song only)?

This is not to say that Morris didn't weave a wonderful underscore for the '67 film out of Brooks' melodies, of course.
