So, AMITYVILLE HORROR...2 discs.
I guess it will be the complete score and the classic album presentation (DISCO VERSION BABY!!!)
If so, I'm all over that one (I never got the Aleph release cos it sounded...wrong...both versions).
I wonder what the problem is with the AMITYVILLE 2 score?
Hard to believe no one has managed to get that one out yet.
Tapes lost perhaps?

Not familiar with Cool World, but always interested in another animation score.

This is GREAT news, hopefully you'll love it Solium.
Film is the definition of trainwreck, although after a recent rewatch on Netflix, it kind of endures. Isham's score is arguably his magnum opus and covers a LOT of musical ground. Check out all the love back in the FSM print days, everyone liked this score. The Varese ran an hour, I'm dying to know what else there is! Great titles coming here, Bravo Quartet!!!!

I bought the Cool World song soundtrack only for the great song "Disappointed" by Electronic. It also features the great "Papua New Guinea" by Future Sound Of London, along with stuff by Moby and Brian Eno. Never saw the film so I haven't heard the score.

Isn't the Aleph album a "re-recording?"

Regardless, this is a score worthy of Quartet's big 200. I wonder what audio sources were used.

Very catchy title song. Good score. Around time animated started crossing over to adults.

I wonder which previous Sarde score will be reused for this new one?

Booooo! How about Le Etoile du Nord - man, I love that theme, had a DRG LP with a great suite, then Universal France includes it on their 'Le Train' compilation - but only 2 tracks :-(
Bummer, but I digress....

I just got Le Choc last week, great Universal France album, but the theme is The Manhattan Project, what gives!?!? I don't mind personally, the 'homage's'.

I forgot to mention too I'm elated that my defective Amityville Horror can go bye-bye now - I was too lazy to replace it (wasn't that a deal you had to contact Aleph direct for a fixed version?).

According to the French trailer, it may be something from 1974 and from 1987. smile
At least I can recognize it immediately which two scores get reused here. The 1974 one during the first 30 seconds (now arranged for piano instead for violin) and during the next 30 seconds the one from 1987:

Amityville is a definite purchase (and long overdue missing from my collection). Hopefully more horror scores will see releases leading up to Halloween (I just love getting them well ahead of time).

Excellent news!

I own the Aleph version so I am interested in hearing what the differences are between the two releases and if this is the original recording.

And I was only partially joking.

Could the first one be UNE HISTOIRE SIMPLE from 1978?

No, it isn't UNE HISTOIRE SIMPLE.
I wrote: 1974. Think about a thriller with a famous French leading actor from 1974 and then you get it at once. smile

The other score from 1987 may be a bit more difficult because the old French LP/CD is in the meantime quite rare and I don't know how many people still know it.

Cool, do I win a copy!??! ;-)

That makes my day, I guess on your clue Stefan, didn't play the clip.

That's a good moody one, I only have the 21min. suite on a CAM CD
paired with the terrific Vincent, Francois, Paul et les Autres. Love that score to death.
