"NEW LIMITED EDITIONS COMING! A quartet of new Varèse Sarabande Limited Editions will be announced on Monday, September 21."
As he also replied to a poster who hoped for Goldsmith to be among these releases, Townson reminded: "The Limited Edition series are contemporary scores."
I am clearly the boy-who-cried-wolf, but I have no doubt that among these releases is finally Marco Beltrami's The Seventh Son.
Christopher Young's The Monkey King would be great, too.
Yup, though perhaps not so easy for Varese to procure. But it definitely deserves a release. I think his score for the pilot of Dominion could fit the limited edition series as well.
I picked up two releases from the last batch, Dragonheart 3 and The Dovekeepers, both of which were excellent, particularly the former which was such a mighty powerful and orchestral-like score considering its budgetary limitations.
So I am looking forward to whatever contemporary releases are forthcoming in this next batch.
I did however think it unfortunate that the build-up to the last batch seemed to generate more interest than the actual releases themselves. Just because these aren't being written by peoples' Golden or Silver Age heroes doesn't make them any less worthy.

Hopefully someone will finally release Badelt's excellent score for QUEEN OF THE DESERT... Doyle's ENCHANTED KINGDOM 3D would be also very interesting addition to the line.

"Dear Mr. Riley,
We were planning to release Seventh Son on Monday, but we've gotten so sick of you and Lokutus bleating on and on about it that we've cancelled it permanently and are substituting a brand-new concept album, Nicki Minaj Sings Michael Nyman, copies of which will be automatically included on all future orders. And it's ALL. YOUR. FAULT.
Cordially yours, The Cutting Edge Group"
Pity - the samples on Beltrami's site sound great...
