Good choice. Here's hoping for the return of the Ondes martenot.

I was hoping for Bear McCreary, if only for his connection to Elmer Bernstein.

And yes, let there be an ondes martinot!

Love his scores for David Mamet's HEIST and STATE AND MAIN. I'm in.

He's been solid for years. Glad to see he's getting a big break. Should be a great score.

I guess it was going to be either Shapiro or Michael Andrews, as those are the composers Paul Feig has worked with in the past. I was personally hoping for somebody more along the lines of John Debney, Joel McNeely, or David Newman. I know many years ago George Fenton's name was being bandied about as the potential composer for the "Ghostbusters in hell" project, and he would've been a good choice too. But we'll be getting a Shapiro score so that's that. Hope springs eternal that he's a good fit & that he at least does something as good as Edelman's light "Ghostbusters II" score.

I hope the opening piano track is on the soundtrack album!

You're joking, man. Why is this a thing????? Everything has to be a slowed-down version now. And if this is a total reboot, why are they reminding people what happened to New York 30 years ago??

I loved the Director's work on Bridesmaids - so I think it's going to be a great time.

Broken record line here: I hope that we see a Varese Encore of the original Ghostbusters score to coincide with the release of the new score!

I was talking about the shitty slow piano "re-imagining" of the theme, but I suppose I could be talking about the movie as well. I would've been less annoyed about this if it weren't just the same thing as the original movie, only with women. A spin-off, with this same cast, would've been better in my mind.

I'm excited about it. The original films were the cornerstone of my childhood (and my adulthood, to be honest) and having caught up with Feig's output in the last week, I have high hopes.

But I agree, the melancholy piano rendition of classic themes in reboot trailers is getting tiresome.

This strikes more as a remake of Ghosbusters 2 than the original film. Meh.

How they could drag out the overused alleged punchline "That's gonna leave a mark" not just for the movie but the trailer is astonishing to me.

Well Shapiro's music will certainly help, but I'm a little confused as to what this new version is supposed to be. I keep hearing it's a reboot as opposed to a remake, but it sure looks remake-ish to me. I've enjoyed Feig's other comedies though, so if any modern comedy director can handle it well, it would probably be him. If...

And by the way, remember the days when movie trailers told you right from the start of the trailer what the movie is called? I can't think of the last time I saw a trailer in which the title wasn't revealed at the last seconds of the trailer, as if it's a mystery we're supposed to figure out.

I was astonished as well. It was funny in the '80s. Once. I think the first time I heard it was in SpaceBalls.

My theory is that, since this will be PG-13, Paul Feig and Co. can't rely solely on the F-word, as is their usual MO. So that's the next line they came up with.

Ugh. smile

My theory is that it's an alternate take and something different will be in the film.
