DOCTOR WHO---BBC Three announced a teen-oriented spinoff series titled CLASS is underway. It is set at the Coal Hill School in contemporary London. Patrick Ness (CHAOS WALKING) will write the scripts. Steven Moffat said, "No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we're bringing his brilliant storytelling into Doctor Who. This is growing up in modern Britain - but with monsters!"
LETHAL WEAPON---Fox tv pilot underway based on the movie series that starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. The pilot has Texas cop and ex-SEAL Martin Riggs joining the Los Angeles Police Department after his wife and baby died. He partners with detective Roger Murtaugh who's recovering from a heart attack.
STAR WARS---the new Star Wars movies include the core movies which are called "saga" movies, and the spinoff movies are called "anthology" movies. Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy commented on the saga trilogy, “The saga films focus on the Skywalker family. The stories follow a linear narrative that connects to the previous six films. THE FORCE AWAKENS follows RETURN OF THE JEDI and continues that generational story. The Anthology films offer opportunities to explore fresh characters, new storylines and a variety of genres inside the Star Wars universe.” Nine Star Wars movies are planned in three different trilogies.
Also, Sarah Michelle Gellar said she will provide the voice for The Seventh Sister Inquisitor in the STAR WARS REBELS animated series.
ASSASSIN'S CREED---Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson will co-star with Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in this movie based on the video game.
GHOSBUSTERS---animated movie is underway at Sony Pictures in addition to the all-female movie and another movie starring Channing Tatum.
ZOO---CBS renewed the series for Season 2.
COMMUNITY---creator Dan Harmon and star Joel McHale said they think Season 6 on Yahoo will be the last season.
GRAN TURISMO---movie underway at Sony Pictures based on the video game with the script by Jon and Erich Hoebler (RED).
THOR: RAGNAROK---Taika Waititi (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS) is in negotiations to direct the sequel.
CABIN IN THE WOODS---Drew Goddard said Lionsgate is interested in a sequel, "They've come to us. ...The funny part is, I don't think we planned that movie to do a sequel you know?"
THE COLDEST CITY---Charlize Theron stars in this movie set in the 1980s when a MI6 agent is murdered.
DAMAGE CONTROL---ABC/Marvel Studios sitcom underway about a team who cleans up and handles chores for superheroes after their battles with evil.
GAME OF THRONES---Joe Naufau (SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE) will appear in multiple episodes in Season 6.
TWIN PEAKS---Robert Knepper (PRISON BREAK) has joined the cast of the sequel series.
STRIKE BACK---movie is underway based on the Cinemax series.
24---Kiefer Sutherland said he won't return for future 24 projects, "24 is definitely over now for me. It's one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given as an actor, but it's moving on without me. I want to do other things."
