Thanks for posting this, Edwina. Goldstein has always been under my radar. Thanks to you, I've just found that he has dozens of albums on Spotify, including both film scores and very approachable concert music. Zoya there as well. Lots of listening to do.

I ran across this CD used some time back and haven't really taken the time to listen to it until now. It's very good! Does anyone know any further details about Basil Poledouris's involvement with this project? The CD is on William Goldman's own label (at least, that's what I'm guessing since it's New Gold Music). Strangely, Basil doesn't get any mention on the front cover for the themes (and it seems some complete cues) which he provided. As much as I like Goldman's work on this, it's the stuff by Basil which really grabs you and sticks in the mind IMO. There are also some brief liner notes by Goldman, and he strangely makes absolutely no mention of the Poledouris element (and he thanks a lot of people). The only mention of Basil Poledouris is in fine print for the tracklisting page itself (and that looks like it was for reasons of legality, as the credits have a complicated number system of 1-5 to indicate who wrote what.) Any idea why that might be? I think this is the only project for which he only contributed some themes and then someone else did the rest of the score, and it feels like there is some story to be told. Does anyone know it?
