I enjoyed the first score quite a bit. Not exactly old JNH, more like a mix of old and new JNH. But I'll take what I can get. Hopefully this one will be just as good.
Not convinced by this one at all. Trailer looks like a fan film. JNH can do wonders but he needs to be allowed to do so. This one looks a committee film that will have Lorne Balfe Barf shit over it soon.

Lovely score by JNH. More Maleficent than Snow White & The Huntsman to my ears but I'm not that familiar with the latter. Maleficent was clearly in the temp.
The film was entertaining and a vast improvement over the first (although there are some strange continuity errors in the plot). James Newton Howard's score is also much better with some beautiful melodies which work well in context of the film. Can't wait for the album to be released on CD next week...
This is indeed a nice improvement over the original and the original themes get some good use here as well. Another overly long album though where some trimming would have improved it.
