Finally - a Western that even I know. And it has a title that sounds like the beginning of a fairy tale.

The opening at the train station is the best mini-movie ever made.

Henry Fonda is excellent as a blue eyed killer.

It contains some of the best dialogue ever.

Frank: What do you want? Who are ya?
Harmonica: Dave Jenkins.
Frank: Dave Jenkins is dead a long time ago.
Harmonica: Calder Benson.
Frank: What's your name? Benson's dead, too.
Harmonica: You ought to know, Frank, better than anyone. You killed 'em.

Frank: Who are you?
Harmonica: Jim Cooper, Chuck Youngblood.
Frank: More dead men.
Harmonica: They were all alive until they met you, Frank.

Perfect movie to show if you want to explain to people the concept of leitmotif. All of the main characters have specific themes that are heard when they are on the screen, and the manner in which two of the themes sometimes seem interchangeable with two of the characters actually telegraphs musically their relationship long before it is revealed in the film. A great example of how much a score can bring to a film.
