"Digitmovies and Beat Records in association with Gruppo Sugar and with the supervision and friendly assistance of Mrs. Colette Delerue, wife of the composer, proudly present a 3-CD box set featuring six original motion picture soundtracks composed and conducted by Georges Delerue, one of the titanic international names in film music.

Comme un boomerang (il figlio del gangster): Police movie directed by José Giovanni in 1976 and starring Alain Delon, Carla Gravina and Charles Vanel. A boy accidentally kills a policeman, and his father (Delon), who has a history as a notorious outlaw, tries to save him through legal means, but when things go wrong, the man returns to his old ways. (Features the same program as the original 33 rpm album but from a first generation stereo master.)

L'incorrigible (L’incorregibile): Comedy directed in 1975 by Philippe De Broca and starring Jean-Paul Belmondo, Genevieve Bujold and Capucine. The adventures of Victor Vauthier, who, fresh out of prison, gets back to “work” immediately.

Va voir maman, papa travaille (Your turn, my turn): Directed by François Leterrier in 1978 and starring Marlène Jobert, Philippe Leotard, Micheline Presle and Macha Méril. A wife and ideal mother who, while driving her son to the zoo, collides with another car and becomes the lover of the other driver. (The music of L'incorrigible and Va voir maman, papa travaille were already released on CD in complete form by Music Box Records in 2011.)

Fantômas: Mini-series directed by Claude Chabrol in 1980 and Juan Luis Buñuel and starring Helmut Berger, Jacques Dufilho, Pierre Malet and Gayle Hunnicutt. Franco-German co-production in four episodes of 90 minutes each, created by Bernard Revon based on the eponymous work of Marcel Allain and Pierre Souvestre, produced in 1979 and broadcasted in 1980 by Antenne 2. (All surviving music is included: three previously-unreleased tracks in addition to the main theme and a suite that was previously released on a compilation.)

We also release for the first time on disc two rarities by Maestro Delerue: Les insulaires, a TV movie directed in 1979 by Gilles Grangier and starring Jacques Dufilho, Odette Laure and Fabrice Eberhard, and Banlieue Sud-est, a TV series in three episodes based on the novel by Rene Fallet, directed in 1977 by Gilles Grangier and starring Paul Le Person, Maurice Biraud, Marie Lubin and Christopher Beaunay. From August 1939 to June 1944, life in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, a suburb southeast of Paris in the village of Auvergne, brings first love, friendship, family drama and political concerns.

In pre-production for over two years and scrutinized in every detail, GEORGES DELERUE FILM MUSIC COLLECTION was a labor of love for the two record labels involved, In celebration of the 90th year since his birth, it’s an important appointment with the discography of the iconic French composer. Full of poetry and art, it’s a vibrant, melodic tribute to the fabulous school beyond the Alps of which the great Maestro is the leader.

Digital remastering and liner notes by Claudio Fuiano, 12-page color booklet designed by Alessio Iannuzzi. Project supervised by Colette Delerue."

3 discs box set - 70 brani (28 brani inediti) - durata totale: 163:27

A very welcome release for any fans of Georges Delerue.

Can't wait to listen to the TV works

Nice rerelease for those who missed the original Music Box CD of l'incorrigible / Va Voir Maman Papa Travaille and the rare original CD issue of Comme un Boomerang.

Thanks !

I'll climb on the Sunshine & Rainbow train, I don't have these, so I guess this set is for blokes
like the governor & I. Nice to see the widow Delerue is doing something with Georges catalogue at least, maybe interest in projects like this will bear more fruit. And it's always fun to just shit over something that TWO labels seem to have put a lot of time & effort into. High five!

This is a wonderful release by DIGIBEAT! I have heard that a lot of work over a two year period has been put into bringing it to our ears. The only music I have already is the Music Box CD of l'incorrigible / Va Voir Maman Papa Travaille, and I don't mind having that again in this collection. I'm looking forward to ordering this collection and listening to this great Delerue music. Well done DIGIBEAT!

Yes, sure a lot of effort went into repacking old releases other labels spent their time working on...
True labor of love, really...

I am very pleased to see some other label release music of Georges Delerue, other than the ever reliable Music Box Records.

While I do have the previously released titles, I do look forward to the unreleased music for those TV works; hopefully they fill up an entire disc!

Now if only an American label would release a Delerue title sooner rather than later...

Great to see that Colette Delerue was involved with the supervision of this set.

70 tracks, 28 unreleased, not bad.

Thank you Maleficio for the tip in and win - game, set, match.

If the board's resident Delerue maniac is happy, then....adios haters, you lose!

If Beltrami had a similar 3cd set treatment with similar production values applied, would Lokutus
avoid it, or try to find a slight shred of joy? Hmmm....

About 50 minutes of unreleased music, that's great!

This project was born 2 years ago, looking into CAM shelves for new unreleased material composed by the Great Maestro.

During this period and with the help of French colleagues, the great dedication of Claudio Fuiano and lovable help of Mrs Colette Delerue who shared with us from her personal archive some material we had this material transfered in a Paris studio, worked with extreme care in Italy and had really a long collaboration with Mrs Delerue that corrected and approved our final cut for this project.

I really pity comments such as those by Lokutus done without any respect of all the people, producer, relatives and professionals involved in this demanding project and I do thank all the other for their enthusiasm.

To release a little antology by the Maestro was our dream since many time, we gave again availability to great sold-out titles and really worked a lot to have the possibility to enjoy new unreleased music (around 63 minutes of unreleased music).
For all who cares and respect all of the above things, it will be a great add-on in their collection, for the fans of great Maestro Delerue I'm sure it will be a real gem!

Thanks for your efforts Daniele. Perhaps you were limited by amount of Delerue material that is in CAM archives? I must agree with some of the comments that for me, it is unlikely to be in the top releases from Beat this year or an instant purchase, but if Beat and Digitmovies judge that it will be a good seller, why not? It's not different than those Expanded editions.

This is one out of about 15 great releases from Beat and Digitmovies this year, so I don't understand why people jump to comment on this one in particular.
