Fantastic release ! Well done BEAT (Hi Daniele) and Digit.

I posted a topic, without noticing there was one already :
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=112646&forumID=1&archive=0
So let us gather at this one, now.

Well-worth edition, because Les insulaires, tracks from Fantomas (only the suite was published) and Banlieue Sud-Est were totally unreleased so far ! So with a good half of unknown music, we cannot complain with this box set.

Patrick

Too bad there does not appear to be any chance for samples...going to be a long wait...

Beat also released three other soundtracks by Francesco de Masi, Stelvio Cipriani and Mario Nascimbene today. Maybe worth starting a new thread.

Thanks again for your comments smile

It's really an old issue, unfortunately, the problem of audio pre-views, in the past I tried to solve it but in Italy we have silly laws for what concerns these kind of things.
Anyway, I think next year, in occasion of our 50th aniversary, among a year full of initiatives we'll also give life to our youtube channel in which to post videos from concerts, (we just made a tour in the USA, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and Philadelphia with the show Frizzi 2 Fulci, but this is another story!) interesting (I hope hehe) clips and some audio previews of various productions.

It should be a better way to approach the music of the Artists we try to promote and a confortable tool for having a general idea of the releases' flavour.

For what concerns Maestro Delerue, yes, CAM archives had some exciting extras, like the Fantomas cues for instance, the family private archive was instrumental for allowing us to realise a collection with many unreleased music.

Cheers to all!

How is the inedit music of the CDs?

How is the inedit music of the CDs?

Apart from just 2 tracks, it's all new for me, so I'm still getting to know it. The majority of the inedit music is disc 3 with a lovely music box theme, and accordion end title - many heartbreakingly beautiful tracks here, but separated by broader source cues. Since there are no cues titles for that one I'd have preferred the source cues to be sequenced together.

Oh and the quality of everything I've heard is first rate.

Someone has received the 3-CD George Delerue Set?

How is the inedit music of the CD?

This set and Intrada's release of Something Wicked have helped me gain a newfound appreciation for Delerue. I'm not a fan of his trademark syrupy, gushingly romantic style, so these were a pleasant surprise. In fact, some of the music on this DigiBeat set is downright funky! I didn't know he had it in him.

Finally got my hands on this release and I'm enjoying it very much despite already having some of the titles featured.

Comme Un Boomerang comes from the original album master tapes without the Dolby Surround filter so it sounds much better than the original release.

As for the completely unreleased score, Banlieue Sud-est, if you are a Delerue fan, you will enjoy it very much!

Also, I hope the tapes to ESCAPE FROM SOBIBOR still exist since, as mentioned in the liner notes, it was recorded in Rome...

I should maybe consider buying this item since I'm very fond of FANTOMAS but I already own the FANTOMAS suite, the CAM CD of COMME UN BOOMERANG and the two scores reissued by MBR (their very first CD, by the way). I also wonder if BANLIEUE SUD EST alone would be worth purchasing this box since I never heard it.
Among the unreleased TV scores by Georges Delerue, there is LE SECRET DE WILHELM STORITZ (based upon a Jules Verne novel, 1967). I've seen it on DVD and the main theme is superb, featuring that magic Austrian zither Delerue inserted in many scores of his (LES DEUX ANGLAISES ET LE CONTINENT, LE JOUR DU DAUPHIN, LES VISITEURS, TOURS DU MONDE, TOURS DU CIEL, etc). That instrument was performed by Monique Rollin.

It´s possible to listen some clips of "Banlieue Sud-est" in any webpage?

Banlieue Sud-est will most likely appeal to the most ardent Delerue fan (like me!); it features a lot of accordion (which I love!).
