I haven't even received my copy of Chain Reaction yet! But, bring 'em on, bring 'em on I say!

My prediction: Encores of Joseph LoDuca's three Evil Dead scores, remastered (though I wouldn't mind a complete Deluxe Edition for Army of Darkness, these would still be cool to have!) They would tie in perfectly with the great new Ash vs. Evil Dead show, which Varese is also releasing the score for. Plus combine that with the new Xena set and they're on a LoDuca roll lately. What I would love to have even more, however, is a remastered reissue of Jerry Goldsmith's album recording of Masada. Both the Varese previous CD issue of it and the Intrada 2 disc release of the film recording are out of print at this point and fetching high prices on the secondary market. It's the perfect time for a remastered reissue of the album recording, before the probably-inevitable Intrada MAF reissue of the film recording (they managed to sell 5000 copies of a $30 2 disc set in just 2-3 years!) As I recall, the previous Varese CD of the album had some major mastering problems, particularly on the "side 2" tracks of the LP. It deserves a facelift and some nice new liner notes taking us behind the scenes of recording the LP album. The only problem is that I don't know what the connection would be with other Encore titles, unless they're more Goldsmith (The 'burbs deserves a reissue, certainly.) Yavar

Did Varese do Evil Dead 2? I thought that was on a different label. It was, but so was CHINATOWN.

I'd prefer them expanded too, but it's entirely possible that complete elements no longer survive. If it's not the I'm really unsure what would come out as somewhat related encore titles (and Evil Dead would also be timely). I don't think it's Young Indiana Jones. Why wouldn't they gather those together at least, like the Xena set? But I don't think Varese even has perpetuity rights on those (because Lucasfilm?) since Roger has recently talked about wanting to do an expanded release of them on Intrada, and he'd probably know if they were off limits. Correct me is wrong, but weren't the last Encore batches not part of the CD Club?

I'd prefer them expanded too, but it's entirely possible that complete elements no longer survive. Maybe. LoDuca has been working on a re-recording of the original score (and composing an entirely new score for the original film), but hasn't given any update on it in years. Here's a track: https://soundcloud.com/joseph_loduca/evil-dead-give-us-some-skin

Yeah, but wouldn't you guys prefer a complete release of this Goldsmith score (or others) instead of just a straight reissue of the old album? I think Roger was claiming these are all "encore" titles. Yavar
