Earlier this summer, composer Christophe Beck recorded his score to the Blue Sky/Fox animated film The Peanuts Movie. Directed by Steve Martino and based on the classic comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, the scoring sessions took place at the Newman Scoring Stage at 20th Century Fox, and ScoringSessions.com is delighted to bring our readers photos from the sessions! http://scoringsessions.com Enjoy!

I'm sure he was just following orders, but I hated this score.

It is very much in the vein as the orchestral cues from Frozen; i.e., delightful.

Yeah, it's in that vein. To me, it was completly generic. I didn't want David Benoit to do it or anything, I just would have preferred something simpler, like the Guaraldi stuff (or even the music from Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown). This could have been the music for literally any children's movie.

Having more references to Guaraldi's music in the film would have certainly helped.
