What's your favorite Philippe Sarde score? There's such a wide range here, but high on my list would be the score for Polanski's The Tenant, which right from the beginning establishes the perfect atmosphere for this film.
The one with 2 orchestras, the Ambrosia singers & the percussions de Strasbourg: Quest for Fire
I love this score as well, but hate the sound quality. It sounds so distant and... Vague, somehow. Does a remarkable injustice to the detailed orchestrations.
1. Les choses de la vie 2. Le veuve couderc 3. Le choix des armes 4. Tess 5. Le Train 6. Le Chat 7. Ghost Story 8. Deux Hommes Dans La Ville 9. The Tenant 10. Barocco
There are many others I'm fond of too, and so, so many I've yet to hear as well.
I've actually only heard two of his scores since 2000 - The Princess of Montpensier and Quai d'Orsay - and both were very good. In due time I would love to hear everything else he's composed lately.
