I sure hope QUARTET or anyone for that matter will finally push the "go" button and release a sweet expanded score from our beloved Maestro!

A very nice haunting score.

I already have the existing CD, how much extra music is there for an expansion?

Don't know how much extra music (if any) is in the film but not on the CD.
The CD even has some bonus tracks at the end to pad the length.
Buying this CD for 13 Euros in a Spanish Super Market was one of my most favourite and memorable purchases while on my jollies! smile

This is a superb score -- so glad to see it given a full and proper presentation! Highly recommended orchestral "horror" score, lovely and eerie and emotional, perfectly in sync with the film it accompanies. The film is in Spanish with English subtitles so you have to pay attention, but it is an unforgettable, very moving story.

Surely among the best horror/mystery films I've ever seen. One particular sequence in the middle is absolutely nerve-wrecking. And the ending is simply perfect!

I also love Velazquez' score, it's so beautiful and haunting.

It really is a great movie...Del Toro horror movies are not typical horror movies, and the score is great. I was so excited about his new movie, Shape of Water, hoping that Velazquez would be scoring it...but, sadly, that was not to be. Too bad, Del Toro really brings out the best in Velazquez.

J.A. Bayona Directed El Orfanato. Desplat did an amazing score for The Shape of Water.

I always forget he produced this one! Sadly, Desplat has never done anything for me...still...I look forward to the movie and will see how the score fares in it.

Does Marco Beltrami or Javier Navarette do anything for you? Del Toro-he like them two- Velaquez did Crimson Peak. J.A. Bayona he like Velazquez-4 films. The Orphanage, Mama, The Impossible and A Monster Calls.

I do like them...although they are a little more hit-or-miss for me :-)

Bayona didn't direct MAMA, that was the IT director!
(this thread could run and run) wink
