Here is a link to Mike's FIVE-O site that includes music cues from Mort's Demo made back in the 1980's - enjoy! http://www.mjq.net/fiveo/Stevens/ Wow. I actually had this on cassette tape (back in 1986), complete with the inscription 'M. STEVENS DEMO,' along with a letter, response to my fan letter, in Stevens' beautiful handwriting. The two pieces labeled 'Escape 2000' are actually from Mort's 5-O score to "Turkey Shoot at Makapuu," the clavinet parts in part 2 sounding a bit like similar passages in his "Police Woman" MT. The copy of the demo I had also featured suites from the 5-O eps "Hookman," "Highest Castle, Deepest Grave," and "How To Steal A Masterpiece." Yep, I also have a copy of the tape and wouldn't it be wonderful if some of this music was released in COMPLETE form? I would be happy just to have WHEELS, one of my top favorite Stevens scores released...there are three cues from WHEELS on the Demo tape...it just screams out for a CD release. At least, we do have the Stevens MASADA, HARDLY WORKING and THE GREAT WHITE scores in complete form from the Demo. Anyway, Mort with always be number one with me...:-)

Any tracks from that one episode of "Knight Rider" he scored, on that demo? For some odd reason I didn't appreciate the score when I first heard it, but after a few listens, since a couple parts had grabbed me, I did a compelte turn about on it. Now I patiently await a CD release.

I still hope one day Alice in Wonderland will get released. ALICE would be great...at this point, I will take ANYTHING!!!!...:-) And that includes Stevens' work for "Thriller" and "Backstairs At The White House". I'm still waiting whe they'll put his original theme for "The C.B.S. Thursday/Friday Night Movie" on a compilation not unlike that of F.S.M.'s ""Ominbus". Mort's CBS MOVIE THEME is also on the Demo - See the above link to Mr. Mike's FIVE-O Web Site to hear it. I have the BACKSTAIRS AT THE WHITE HOUSE DVD set and it is just a really wonderful Miniseries to watch and Mort's music is such a delight, along with a great, heartfelt Main Title, once again, you can hear it at the link above....:-) Mraudio, I was referring the original version that was heard on "The C.B.S. Thursday/Friday Night Movie" which was composed for strings and harps that was used from '65 to '71. You can actually hear parts of it in the episode of "Gilligan's Island" where his one of the fillings in his mouth makes him become a radio transmitter, and the music comes out when he opens his mouth. This piece of music, by the way, was my introduction to Stevens, and the "Hawaii Five O" album was the first score album by him I ever heard. Shame that the original version wasn't included on the demo.
