So I just wanted to know if with soundtrack collectors there were similar reactions to when a goal is scored in football (AKA Soccer) "Gooooooooooooooooal!".

When:

1. You're flipping through a used CD bin and find a rare gem;

2. When you win an eBay auction for a coveted item; or

3. Or when that package arrives from your favorite label.

Do you have a victory cry?

I think mine may be an elongated "Yesssss!", with some serious fist pumping. big grin

No tears, but there may have been a fist pump when I saw Milan Records reissued Ninja Scroll last month.

He, he. I don't think I've ever had such a reaction. At most in the early days of my soundtrack collecting, back in the 90s.

Mine is... suh-weeet. Said with a slight climb up the octave between the low note on "suh" to the high note on "...eet" Also said just loudly enough so that any other music shoppers around me know I just found something suh-weet. wink

I go back to the old days of LPs & finding elusive Italian & Japanese 45's, when I was back working in London England, I used to pay a weekly visit to 58 Dean Street, who were always getting in these incredible records.

I recall giving a “YESSS” when I got 5 Man Army & a “YOUR KIDDING” when I got Breezy.

I think now days as I order so much less & really only titles I know a I really want I tend to get the boxes & think “wow after all these years I have a chance to own (put your own title in)”.

I then ponder how amazingly lucky we are today to get these releases and so cheap, seriously Jaws for $30!! Album & film score? I paid $10 for the album in 1976 (a rough exchange of UK pounds to dollars).

Still get an excited thrill to open a packet, as it’s so little I order, but wonder what the likes of those who produce this for us must go through & really for such little reward.

I am grateful for this time & I really hope those joining us get the same excitement I did years ago when their releases arrive.

Whatever your listening to enjoy the music

Thinking back on this a bit I feel that when I do find something great in the store I hold of on any sort of victory cry until after I've paid for the item and gotten out of the store - fearing that when I get up to the cash that the disc might be missing (if it's stored behind the cash).

Once I know that it's paid for and officially mine the victory cries commence.

I suppose the 1979 version would be suitable for sitting bored and motionless in traffic...
