TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE---new promotional video released.

Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6as8ahAr1Uc

RAMBO: NEW BLOOD---new Fox tv series underway about John Rambo and his son, J.R., who is an ex-SEAL. Sylvester Stallone is the executive producer and will reportedly star in the series. The RAMBO 5 movie sequel has been put on hold.

STAR WARS---George Lucas recently again defended his tweaking the shootout scene between Han Solo and Greedo, "Han Solo was going to marry Leia, and you look back and say, 'Should he be a cold-blooded killer?'. Because I was thinking mythologically - should he be a cowboy, should he be John Wayne? And I said, 'Yeah, he should be John Wayne.' And when you're John Wayne, you don't shoot people [first] - you let them have the first shot. It's a mythological reality that we hope our society pays attention to."

DOCTOR WHO---Steven Moffat commented on the Christmas special, "The Husbands of River Song", "It's towards the comedy thriller end of the Doctor Who market. It's light, and quite emotional at the end. The big deal is Doctor No 12 encountering River and vice versa. It's strange because they're now, in our human terms, the perfect couple. They're both sexy older people.
It's always been slightly strange before with Matt [Smith]. Now, yeah, they could actually be married. It works. She's great with Peter [Capaldi]. She genuinely hasn't aged a day since she did "The Silence in the Library" [her debut story], which we made in 2007. She looks amazing...And she's very, very funny."

JAMES BOND 25---co-producer Barbara Broccoli said the 25th James Bond movie is being developed, "We have put three years of work into SPECTRE. It was a thrill, but now we want to enjoy the success and the reactions of the audiences. In spring we start again. I hope we can continue with Daniel [Craig]. I love him, obviously not just me but also the audience. I will try my best to keep him on."
Also, two Canadian filmmakers, Lee Demarbe and Ian Driscoll (JESUS CHRIST VAMPIRE HUNTER) said they're planning to remake FOR YOUR EYES ONLY since the Canadian copyrights to the James Bond franchise has expired. If the remake is actually released, it could only be legally released in Canada.

GOTHAM---Lori Petty (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK) will guest star as Jeri, the hostess of an underground club that celebrates mass murder as a art, who provides clues to Bruce Wayne about the murder of his parents. Michael Bowen (BREAKING BAD) will guest star as killer "Matches" Malone.

DEXTER---Showtime denied rumors that it is developing a remake of the series.

BARBIE AND RUTH---biomovie underway about Ruth Handler, the creator of the Barbie Doll. Reese Witherspoon is the producer and may star.

MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000---Patton Oswalt has joined the revival series cast as "TV's Son of TV's Frank". Former cast members Frank Coniff and Trace Beaulieu have made negative comments about not be asked to return for the new series.

Dear Mr. Lucas,

Just stop it already. Please?

He was never a cowboy. He was a scoundrel.
A smuggler, for crying out loud.
Or is that soon to be on the chopping block too?
What are you going to retro-transform him into?
A guy that merely transported toys to all the little intergalactic girls and boys?

Regards,
Ock

Bullcrap. Lucas has just had yet more time to retroactively justify the change.

It is yet again a retroactive reality Lucas has created. There is actually a wikipedia page documenting his story change.

Not only do multiple drafts only mention Solo firing, but Lucas said Greedo always shot first and we were just confused about it because the camera angle wasn't wide enough. Further more this nice guy Lucas speaks of, is as previously stated a smuggler, who was hanging out in a bar that Obi describes as "wreched hive of scum and vaillany", and after the incident gets up nonchalantly and flips a coin at the bartender commenting, "Sorry about the mess".

Yeah, he seems all choked up about it.

And just for fun:

And even if Solo is supposed to be a cowboy, Greedo is telling him in no uncertain terms he's about to kill him! Is Han supposed to sit there and let Greedo squeeze off a shot at point-blank range? That makes no sense, even for the most good-natured "cowboy", which Han clearly wasn't, as his greed and abandoning of Luke and the Rebel cause toward the end clearly show, making his change of heart all the more important to the story.

This is it. The way it was, the way it always will be. Han didn't shoot Greedo in cold blood. It was very clear Greedo was going to shoot him dead on the spot and deliver his body. Han used his street smarts to quietly pull out his blaster in case he had to use it in self defense. In this case a life or death scenario. It's called outwitting your opponent. I don't know why Lucas is so obsessed with this.

Oh, I can tell you why.
It's because at this very moment, Georgie is completing the last few pre-production stages of a new House Of Mouse animated series for pre-schoolers called, "The Adorable Adventures Of The Star Wars Rebel-Babies" (Solo is a 5-year-old, Luke is 2 years old, etc., etc.).

(ETA: Had to put "Rebel" in the title--Georgie already retconned it.)

To be honest, while I like the idea of changing the human host around every few seasons - is it me, or are they hiring every goddamned person the internet and its hipster douche brother likes. Jonah Ray looks like someone's last known photograph and Felicia Day is just profoundly untalented in a way even Pia Zadora failed to be.

I was never a huge fan of the Mike Era but I would take that ten times over what this reboot is shaping up as.

This is the point we are at: because of crap liek the Christmas and the animated Ewok series, I had to actually search "The Adorable Adventures Of The Star Wars Babies" to make sure it was not true.

Luca$ is an idiot. He's just a wealthy idiot. (Look what he did to THX-1138.)

Han Solo is not and never was "John Wayne." More like Lee Van Cleef.

Maybe also a little bit Bruce Dern--the only guy ever smart enough to shoot Wayne when his back was turned.

I suppose you didn't like "Code of Vengeance" (aka "Dalton: Code of Vengeance") either...I actually wouldn't mind watching it again. Does anyone here besides me remember this?

The full original pilot (original cut) was on youtube (gone now) a few years ago. CoV was not very good. Plus, it retconned the very character it spun off.

Now that I've gone back to two or three different threads here in the last few years ago the next Rambo movie, I'm inclined to beleive the series will be a hand-off to his son, to continue the franchise, 'cause Stallone had said he wanted the next film to be the last and that he wanted the character to die. So I imagine FOX disagreed and wanted it to keep going, so Stallone probably agreed if he had guest roles (that may or may not lead up to his character finally dying off) and the baton was handed to somebody else.

Also, I seem to recall at one point Stallone wanted some kind of crap Rambo film where he battled aliens. Space aliens. IF that was true, hopefully he's come to better senses.

STAR WARS---..you don't shoot people [first] - you let them have the first shot. It's a mythological reality that we hope our society pays attention to."

I'm still trying to figure out what a "mythological reality" is.

And you dont let your adversary shoot first - this isnt a duel with 18th Century single-shot pistols. In the West, it's the fastest drawer with the best aim who wins. And modern police dont even wait for you to drop your toy gun.

JUSTIN BOGGAN:

Maybe you're thinking about Stallone having bought the movie rights to the novel HUNTER with the plot along the lines of a famous hunter who leads a team of specialists to a secret Arctic laboratory where a genetically-created monster has killed everyone and his team must stop the monster from escaping into civilization.
At one point, Stallone said this might be the next Rambo movie.

This is the same guy who recently said Star Wars was always meant to be a soap opera. Not a space opera, and soap opera. Nothing he says makes sense.
