Plain and simple question: Who should score Arnold's unboot and third instalment of the cimmerian THE LEGEND OF CONAN?

Although I'm not a fan of contemporary sequels/reboots/remakes etc. of old movies, if I had to asnwer that question I'd say:
JOHN WILLIAMS

I agree! Second (and most likely!) choice: MICHAEL GIACCHINO

It needs someone who can handle a big orchestra and choir for all that action and emotion...

My choices would be Joel McNeely, Patrick Doyle or James Newton Howard.

I'd even like Brian Tyler if he could lay off the electronics.

I'd love to hear Bear McCreary's take on a project like this.
Christopher Gordon is an excellent suggestion. And why not Knut Avenstroup Haugen?

Knut Avenstroup Haugen would be my pick too -- his scores for the AGE OF CONAN games are every "fanboy"'s wet dream. A very natural extension of Poledouris' style.

If you haven't checked this out, you're definitely missing out!

Bear McCreary would be my first choice.

Christopher Lennertz next...

and if you wish to think outside the box.... SEAN CALLERY.

For me only choice for new Conan score is John Debney.

After "Lair" im sure he is great for orchestral-choral fantasy score !

Bruce Broughton or perhaps John Debney or Michael Giacchino in a pinch

I think that Debney will gave us better, more "Basil-like" fantasy themes than Giacchino. smile But it is my opinion only smile

And please not Howard Shore - I just LOVE his scores for Lord of the Rings films, but in dissapoiting Hobbit scores you can feel that he is tired of fantasy movies...

This would be amazing but you and I both know, good sir, that will not be the case.

Nor will it be Christopher Gordon or Fernando Velazquez, as much as I'd love that, nor, say, Roque Banos, a realistic candidate given his current industry stature, and a good one given his scores for GOD IS ON THE AIR and his very blatantly CONAN-inspired early work, HEART OF THE WARRIOR.

But we know it'll be none of these, and we know that Poledouris' thematics will not likely make any appearance beyond, maybe, a cursory quote or nod.

It'll be Junkie XL or Ramin Djawadi or one of those guys and we know EXACTLY what it'll sound like.
