The lovely sentiments from you and the others carried me through to the end of this week and will continue through my niece's recovery period.
She is now home and is beginning the healing process. I can say that she has a smile that lights up a room and and I saw that smile yesterday. It lit up the world!
Hey edwzoomom, you tell your niece that the Mom of a fellow messageboarder was a 55+year survivor of that scourge, and has a sibling going on 10+ years and a sister-in-law currently undergoing a disgusting intense treatment for same. Yeesh.
I don't say this lightly and I know exactly what your niece will be going through, truly and deeply I give out my best wishes. May your niece make a good recovery and get the all clear.
I wanted to share an update about my niece and thank you again for your prayers, warm words and thoughts you sent her way.
Amazing as it sounds, she is back at work and off all meds. Her warm, infectious smile has returned and she has a positive outlook on her future as we all have. She is about to begin a round of oral chemo and radiation. Daunting as that sounds, she has been told her chances of remission are very high and her oncology team is extremely optimistic.
Thank you again and please continue to keep her and anyone fighting this dreaded disease in your thoughts and prayers.

Awesome! Thanks for the praise report! Continuing prayers for all!
Oral chemo sounds somewhat passive, but in these matters we presume that doctors know what they're doing and we go along with it. If this particular strategy works then so much the better.

That's just excellent news, Edw. I do send my thoughts and prayers for her remission and recovery.
I hope her treatment does the trick and she can get through it all as well as she can under the circumstances. Positive vibes headed her way (and yours).
