I watched it many times on the big screen, superb film, a big favourite of mine! Really? When? Which theaters? Was this in the 1960s or in subsequent revivals(!)? Hi Jim, I clearly remember going to see Point Blank(1967) with a good friend at that time who subsequently became employed in the film industry as an Assistant Director and worked on John Boorman's The Emerald Forrest(1985) on location in Brazil! I still remember my surprise when one day a postcard arrived from Brazil telling me that he was working on the shoot, I had no idea he was there, no Internet in those days! Afterwards I actually saw The Emerald Forest(1985) in Boston, MA, in 1985 as I was working there that summer. Anyway, Jerry (my friend) and I saw Point Blank(1967) on it's first release in The Savoy Cinema in Waterford City, Ireland, and instantly loved it, and why wouldn't we as it is a brilliant film and we were crazy film buffs! I also saw Boorman's Leo The Last(1970) in the same cinema, a few years later on its first release, and enjoyed that film too. I remember going to see Point Blank(1967) on many ocassions in The Regina and The Regal cinemas in Waterford when it came around on the old rep system operating at that time in Irish cinemas. I practically lived in cinemas in those days! Point Blank1967) was quite popular in Waterford and came around lots of times for years afterwards, and has been on TV many times. The great John Boorman lives not very far away from me at the moment, in Co. Wicklow, but alas I have never managed to bump into him on my travels in and around that lovely County. As I know you are interested in these matters please check out the link below for some info on cinemas in my hometown of Waterford. http://architectureireland.ie/when-the-lights-go-down-waterfords-love-affair-with-cinema

The link--as well as your fond reminiscences--are much appreciated, Niall! The Savoy wouldn't be out of place here in Miami with all this city's Art Deco buildings. I've never been to Miami. I have heard it is a fascinating city! Maybe someday I'll go over there for some winter sunshne, and a tour of those great buildings?! BTW Jim, now that I have the opportunity I want to say a (very) belated "Thank you" for that great info you posted on a thread some years back concerning David Rose's music for the classic western TV series Bonanza! I remember finding your conribution to that thread really interesting, informative, and most enjoyable reading! Just goes to prove once again how essential the FSM Discussion Board is for so many of us...dare I say, young and old!

You're welcome re: Bonanza. I'm pleased to know there's at least one other Bonanza fan here at the olde FSM board! You may also remember that POINT BLANK's Lee Marvin had a legendary appearance on the show, in S3's "The Crucible." Love Johnny Mandel's score for POINT BLANK. Oh yes Jim, I am a big fan of Bonanza, great series. I love all of the TV western series. The Irish TV channell TG4 repeated the whole series each morning ofen showing two episodes per day. I managed to watch quite a lot of them but I don't remember seeing "The Crucible" episode with Lee Marvin, sic! The music in all of the episodes was really outstanding in my opinion. I've often wished some of the labels might bring out a box set or compilation disc of David Rose's music, wonder if the music tapes still survive? Johnny Mandel's score for POINT BLANK is brilliant, really suits the film, so glad FSM issued it!
