Ennio Morricone has written a lot of music and it´s not easy to know which scores to seek out. I know that Morricone (Henry Stanny) has tried to give the board visitors some advices but I can´t remember whether he has written about La Piovra or not. I just read a review of the score and I think this is a score that should get more attention. It has a lot to offer both dramatic action music and more beautiful and romantic stuff. Some parts of this score is truly gorgeous.

So happy to see someone else appreciating this Morricone masterpiece... So many people focus on his bigger scores and ignore this gem. I wrote that review and this is still my favorite score from him... I listen to it almost weekly

LA PIOVRA has always been among my true favourites, even among my top 10. A pity we got only that 2 CD of highlights because each season scored by EM would deserve a full CD save maybe for the 10th one where he wrote mostly that powerful Requiem. As a whole, I hold it as a masterpiece and as the greatest bunch of mafia music ever written!

Great review! Thank you Hans! La Piovra was very big in Sweden and that Milli Ecchi theme is fantastic among many others from that score. I´m a preschool teacher and during my time at the University we once had the oppurtunity to play one of our favourites to the rest of the students in our group. I chose Milli Ecchi and they seemed to really like it.

One of the GREATEST TV scores ever written by the MAESTRO.

This show i had seen probably 100 of times, i remember first broadcast was in the 90's when they broadcasted 1 episode in a week and only 1-4 seasons with the Cattani only.
Then they broadcast later in 95-96 years La Piovra 5-6 also.

But in the 2000's only we knew La Piovra 7-10.

I'm big fan of Ortolani too anyway his score for La Piovra 1 had not so huge effective and has some typical Ortolani themes and i woudn't say the Great of Ortolani, even another Ortolani Mafia works for same Damiani much well done. However i do like Ortolani score too and without his score for 1 season i can't imagine La Piovra 1.

Morricone's themes are superb and Main theme was brilliant made with organ sounds and really with the Bloody intro and this awesome theme (La Morale) it was absolute right solution .

Anyway it's too much to talk of this score, a lot of reviews and other talks. I just saying that i has told before a lot of times, many of tracks (Morricone) remains Unreleased.

For example Morte di Un Giusto - 2 great and frequently used in La Piovra 4
Then Silenzi Dopo Silenzi - piano version solo
ALso Canzone per la sera and Mille Ecchi - alternate versions, for flute and other versions.

Also some more unknown suspense multitracks and many others alternate versions - for example Strana Bambina (as End Titles for La Piovra 6) violin version.

And i also recognized a lot of pre-existing music too, theme from Veruschka, Gli Intoccabili, Il Vizietto 3 has used for the background scenes couple of times. But there are 2 themes which also you can hear during La Piovra 3-4-5-6-7
They are NEL CARCERE and E DOVER MORIRE - written for SACCO E VANZETTI score.
