Dear Lou -- Haven't visited this thread for a while, bumped into it just now, suddenly realized for the first time that this album is yours. Before, I aways thought you and I were discussing the decisions of a third party. And now I see you've released quite a few discs. More power to you! Maybe I'll check out one of the spaghetti western CD's. And speaking of westerns: Was that a joke, or did ALFREDO GARCIA use "I'll Remember April"? As you may or may not know, it happens that the song WAS written for a western movie of sorts: Abbott and Costello's RIDE 'EM COWBOY. (Hans J. Salter told me that the song was practically the only hit Universal had in one of its pictures in those days, and for many years whenever a scene called for a pop source music cue they'd trot out "I'll Remember April." In fact, I remember John Williams using it more than once when he was scoring TV's "Alcoa Premiere" in the early 60's.) -- Preston PS: Those Gregg Nestor albums Ray recommends are of course exactly the ones I was referring to.

Mazeltov on the praise, Lou! Well deserved, I have no doubt. Once again, this thread has dropped below my radar for quite a while, until tonight. Thanks for all the additional background info, Ray. You and Manderley never cease to amaze me. Incidentally, I quite agree with you about Foran's vocal. I'm also very partial to another cowboy ballad he crooned in those days, "My Little Buccaroo," easily the equal of Bing's version. Did Foran introduce it in a WB short? Of course, if anybody knows, it'll be you.
