Hi,
I'm interested in picking up a copy of Simians and Serialism, but the absurd US-Canada exchange rate and shipping fees are giving me pause. Any Canadians have a copy of this that they want to sell? Drop me a line at caavis@gmail.com.

Chris.

Chris: I do own a copy, and I am in Canada, but unfortunately for you I am not interested in selling it. See, the thing is: any fellow Canadian who does have a copy to sell likely paid the full amount in the first place (including the exchange rate AND the international shipping fee) and thus would want to recoup their expense, or at least a good chunk of it anyway. Therefore, you likely wouldn't save all that much money in such a deal if one did exist out there.

The book, while quite technical for the most part, is a fascinating read and is well-worth getting at any price, especially if you (like me) a fan of both Jerry Goldsmith *AND* 'Planet of the Apes.' Besides, I have usually found that, in life, one tends to regret the things one did NOT get as opposed to the things one DID get. Maybe you could find a cheaper used copy at eBay.ca or abebooks.com? Good luck!
