Do you mean 'what unreleased score from 2015 most deserves a release'?

And my answer is Hotel Transylvania 2.

From the list provided by barryfan, there are several I'm curious about, but which I haven't heard. But I'd say these should get a proper release:

BLACKHAT – Harry Gregson-Williams, Atticus Ross -- great score!
(THE 11TH HOUR - Johann Johannsson -- haven't heard it, but am very curious)
(ESCOBAR: PARADISE LOST - Max Richter -- haven't heard it, but am very curious)
FAULTS - Heather McIntosh -- the film is in my Top 10 of the year, but I can't remember anything of the score
JAUJA – Viggo Mortensen -- another favourite film of mine, but I have no idea about the score. Mortensen? Really?
KAHLIL GIBRAN'S THE PROPHET - Gabriel Yared -- great score (I have a promo)!
PAPER TOWNS - Ryan Lott -- this is one of my favourite scores from last year, but I think it has a digital soundtrack already? (I have a promo)
PAWN SACRIFICE - James Newton Howard -- again, nice score (I have a promo)
THE RIOT CLUB – Kasper Winding -- some highlights (I have a promo)
SERENA - Johan Soderqvist -- nice, romantic score (I have a promo)
SUNSHINE SUPERMAN - Kaada -- surprisingly 'mainstream' for Kaada (I have a promo)
THEEB - Jerry Lane -- on my Top 10 list of films last year, but can't remember much of the score
TINKER BELL AND THE LEGEND OF THE NEVERBEAST - Joel McNeely -- haven't heard it, but am curious

Also, I've received lots of promos from Nordic scores this year, which sadly do not have an official release. These are the biggest highlights:

NORWAY:

* Dryads: Girls Don't Cry – Marius Christiansen
* Karsten og Petra på Safari – Lars Kilevold
* Solan og Ludvig: Herfra til Flåklypa [Solan og Ludvig: The Big Cheese Race] – Knut Avenstroup Haugen (fantastic score, but I understand a soundtrack is forthcoming)

SWEDEN:

* Även de döde har et namn [The Dead Still Have a Name] – Rasmus Ohlander & Sebastian Sandberg
* Aerobics: A Love Story – Juha Silventoinen
* Blodssystrar [Blood Sisters] – Rebekka Karijord
* En underbar jävla jul [A Wonderful Friggin' Christmas] – Per Andréasson
* Jag stannar tiden [I Stop Time] – Johan Ramström

DENMARK:

[the biggest highlights all have a soundtrack release]

FINLAND:

* Äidin Toive [Mother's Wish] – Jonas Bohlin
* Kätilö [Wildeye] – Pessi Levanto
* Tyttökuningas [The Girl King] - Anssi Tikanmäki (fantastic score, this MUST get a soundtrack release!)

ICELAND:

[no particular highlights this year, IMO]

I hope the low participation in this thread isn't a sign that everyone is only focussed on older releases, and don't care about what's coming out these days. But I fear it is.

CARLOS, REY EMPERADOR by Federico Jusid
REVELATION by Neal Acree

I'm pretty sure REVELATION is coming out this year. As for Carlos... I'm not sure about the status of that gem!

You can sample both by going to http://www.cinematicsound.net/top-20-scores-of-2015/

JAUJA – Viggo Mortensen -- another favourite film of mine, but I have no idea about the score. Mortensen? Really?

Really? I HATED that... I mean really HATED and it was completely UNBEARABLE. Much like Killing Room (which had the score by someone else when I saw it...) or that pseudowestern piece of trash Jeff Grace scored a couple years ago, which I am still trying to forget...

I politely suggest changing the word "movie" to "score" in the title. It suggests films not on DVD/blu-ray.

To each their own. I like the way the used vistas (even in a Academy Ratio) to communicate audiovisual ideas, that there was very little in terms of expository dialogue etc. It was just a very hypnotic film that immediately grabbed me and held me for its duration. But I can understand it's not for everyone, especially if one is geared towards more mainstream form of storytelling/cinema.

I agree. This is why there are very few people commenting.

I haven't watched very many new films so I haven't heard of many of the ones on this list and thus I don't really have a hankering for any of them getting a release. It is a little surprising how long that list is considering it seems these days that almost everything gets a release. So many TV series I watch have such throw away scores that I rarely could care if they were ever released.

None of the scores in the list I posted interest me. But then again, I haven't really heard them. But Carlos would be my choice because I love Federico Jusid's work.

That’s essentially my opinion, too. I have not seen a lot of those films (I viewed about ten of them, and a couple aren’t from 2015), and I suspect that applies to just about everyone who doesn’t work in the industry in some capacity.

I did enjoy the sample of the Jusid score that Erik presented.
