This movie looks entirely self-serious for being a nostalgia baiting franchise startup, which can only rely on The Breakfast Club, Chronicle, and Twilight for its inspiration rather than the goofy kids series or the Japanese monster bashing originals.
Two of my kids, 4 and 6, watch MMPR on TV (Classic, Dino Charge, and one other one). I showed them the trailer. At the end of it they asked me "What movie is that?" (and they were not impressed)
