I remember liking Perfume and I know a lot of people responded to Cloud Atlas. Here's the new Tom Tykwer film, a goofy dramedy starring Tom Hanks. Maybe it'll have a lovely score. CD coming April 22: http://www.amazon.com/Soundtrack-Hologram-For-The-King/dp/B01CR0UCXA/

You ought to revisit PERFUME, because it's a masterpiece. How Klimek/Heil, otherwise mediocre and wildly uninteresting composers, achieved such magic on that film (and CLOUD ATLAS) is beyond me.

Here's hoping for more great work from them on this.

First, just wanna thank Mr. Broxton for his always-thorough and always-thoughtful reviews. Though I wanna disagree with him.

This is a great, GREAT score! Klimek together with Heil and, to the most extent it seems, Tykwer always conjure some rather dynamic score for Tykwer's films. Outside of those productions, these two are some rather dull composers. So it must be gathered by me that Tykwer really brings out the best in all of them. This is no exception, minus Heil. The main theme here is ear-buzzing and has stuck with me throughout all of the day, and the rest of the music is always listenable, always pleasant and engaging, and this is a perfectly constructed album at shy of 45 minutes. Based on the music alone (and Tykwer's previous films) I anticipate seeing this film.

Is this a great score slipping by the ears of those looking for orchestral and thematic-driven modern scores? Yes.

... confused
