A serious question: How does a release like this make financial sense? Even if it sells out, and every copy is sold without a middleman so Kronos gets the full amount, they'll take in less than $6,000. (And in fact, it's less than that, since Screen Archives and Intrada carry Kronos CDs and are taking a few bucks for themselves.) Now subtract from that mastering, manufacturing, rights payments, and everything else… what is their margin on this? Can it be more than $1,000? (And that's if it sells out!) I'm not knocking it. More power to them! I'm just flummoxed by the business model.

It's fortunate that we have a label like Kronos.

By the way, if anybody feels guilty, if you order directly from them, just send them more money than your check-out total.

Ever since I played his scores to ABRAMO, GIACOBBE and a few others like SANT ANTONIO DI PADOVA or TRISTANO E ISOTTA, I've been fond of Frisina's unique and wonderful style. In the excerpts of CHRISTUS, I do recognize many of his trademarks, in particular the use of the choir, the woodwind section, the harp, etc. Regarding the 300 copy issue, I'm not surprised at all. Many Italian labels have done this since several years and other labels like MUSIC BOX RECORDS also use to release only 350 copies for some of their titles. Ditto with the last physical albums of the Canadian label CINEMUSIQUE. It simply means that the potential market for such obscure and/or forgotten scores is not higher, regardless of how good they are on a musical point of view.

I received this a couple of days ago.I've managed to play it through twice (it's 77mins).I can say I am very happy with it.It is lush ,melodic ,a bit of choral work.I can't be more specific, yet, perhaps when I know it better. For anyone unsure,it's worth a go.
