1996's THE GRASS HARP is a comedy-drama based on a 1951 novel by Truman Capote. It tells the story of "Collin Fenwick" (Edward Furlong), who, after his mother's death, goes to live with his father's cousins, the wealthy, avaricious, and controlling "Verena Talbo" (Sissy Spacek) and her compliant, earthy sister "Dolly" (Piper Laurie). In a minor role, Doris Roberts plays a gossipy member of the community. Walter Matthau also starred, as a judge, and his son Charles Matthau directed the film. Patrick Williams provided the unreleased score.
