This looks like a breakout year for Buckley after a lot of TV and "Additional Music by" credits. He's doing THE NICE GUYS, Shane Black's newest, too. His theme for MERCY STREET is fantastic. He's worked a lot with the Zimmer stable so he seems like a natural fit to expand on Powell's BOURNE sound, assuming he came in to help complete the score after the tragic loss of Powell's wife.
I thought he didn't want to do violent movies any more? Or was that someone else? His quote was more nuanced than that, it was along the lines of not wanting to do films that have mindless violence without consequences, these films have a bit of violence, but it's never cartoonish, and they're human and grounded and politically engaged.
I don't know about others but I get so tired of the music used for trailers these days for action type films like this. The incessant heavy bass, the weird electronic 'bending' sound and everything coming to a crescendo then cutting to silence. Sorry rant over.
Still, shouldn't the movie be called THE BOURNE SOMETHING-OR-OTHER? They're screwing with the pattern.
The Bourne Vacancy
"Cuz He Was Bourne... Bourne... Bourne... Bourne To Be Allve!"

Makes me long for the days of "Red Alert" and "Bishop's Countdown".
