GAME OF THRONES---HBO released a synopsis and trailer for Episode 2 and a synopsis for Episode 3.
Episode 2 synopsis: "Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) trains with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow). In King’s Landing, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) advises Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman). Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night’s Watch stands behind Thorne (Owen Teale). Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) entertains other proposals.”

TWIN PEAKS---the cast for the Showtime sequel series was released which includes Kyle McLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Madchen Amick, Miguel Ferrer, Everett McGill, Ray Wise, Monica Belluci, Ashley Judd, Laura Dern, David Duchovny, Naomi Watts, Richard Chamberlain, Berenice Marlohe, Robert Forster, Tom Sizemore, Harry Dean Stanton, James Belushi, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ernie Hudson, Russ Tamblyn and Jane Levy.
ALIEN 5---Neill Blomkamp released concept art for 27 year-old Newt from the sequel.
THE NOBLE ASSASSIN---Cary Fukunaga (TRUE DETECTIVE) will direct this DreamWorks World War II movie based on the upcoming novel about a French aristocrat who is trained by England's Special Operations Executive to be a saboteur in Nazi-occupied France.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2---sources say Nathan Fillion's cameo in the sequel will involve a scene in an arthouse theater showing movie marathon of Simon Williams (Wonder Man) movies.
CHAPPAQUIDDICK---John Curran is in negotiations to direct the movie about Ted Kennedy's 1969 car accident in which 28 year-old Mary Jo Kopechne drowned. Jason Clarke (ZERO DARK THIRTY) stars.
THE SISTERS BROTHERS---Joaquin Phoenix is talks to co-star with John C. Reilly in this movie based on the novel set in 1851 Oregon where brothers Eli and Charlie Sisters seek to kill the prospector that stole from their boss.
GOOSEBUMPS 2---Jack Black will return for the Sony Pictures sequel.
BORDERLANDS---Lionsgate movie underway based on the video game.
EVE ONLINE---tv series underway based on the game from CCP Games and Ridley Scott.
HAIRSPRAY LIVE!---NBC live telecast based on the Broadway musical. Jennifer Hudson and Harvey Fierstein star.

Well, to be clear, I think Blomkamp posted that he had a clever to make his story work without undoing what was already the last 2 ALIEN movies, he never said that he was ignoring them despite the presence of Hicks and Newt. Of course, no one but him knows how this will be accomplished!
He has since backtracked on that too (probably something he initially said to appease upset fans of continuity, like myself). The only way -- and I mean ONLY way -- this could work is if they introduce wormholes and alternative timelines. And somehow, I doubt that's what he's doing.
This was a pretty clearcut case of ignoring 3 and 4 from the early stages, and the more we learn about this production (if it ever gets made), the more this is cemented. I've sorta come to terms with it, even though every continuity fiber in my body -- especially in relation to the ALIEN universe -- screams out loud. But of course, in space no one can hear you scream.

You care about stupid ALIEN movies and yet you've never bothered yourself to watch THE SAND PEBBLES, Thor?
