Composer Bear McCreary’s score for 10 Cloverfield Lane is a masterful assemblage of elements including a 90-piece orchestra, a 45-piece string ensemble, a grouping of 30 celli and 8 bass, and a string quartet. These traditional instruments are combined with two unusual feature instruments, the Yayli tanbur and the Blaster Beam, an experimental instrument built and played by Craig Huxley.

“Bear has written an incredible score for [director] Dan Trachtenberg's 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE,” said producer J.J. Abrams. “It is tense, emotional music that gives the film scope and heart, augments the surprise and horror. It’s an homage to Herrmann, but wholly original at the same time. I'm deeply grateful to Bear for his contribution to this movie.”

Music by Marvin Hamlisch
Limited Edition of 1500 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $19.98

La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures present the world premiere release of renowned composer Marvin Hamlisch’s (THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, SOPHIE’S CHOICE, D.A.R.Y.L.) original motion picture scores from two acclaimed Paramount Pictures dramas: 1980’s Best Picture winner ORDINARY PEOPLE, starring Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton, and directed by Robert Redford, and 1973’s SAVE THE TIGER, starring Jack Lemmon (winner, Best Actor) and directed by John G. Never seen or heard Big Trouble before, but sorry, the samples aren't doing it for me. Looks nice though.

Have picked up Cloverfield, The Forest, Ordinary People/Save The Tiger and Justice League: Gods And Monsters, so I hope I've redeemed myself for not getting Big Trouble.

Thanks MV & all at LLL. See you in a few weeks for Shawshank smile

Never seen or heard Big Trouble before, but sorry, the samples aren't doing it for me. Looks nice though.

I saw it when it originally came out, and have it on Blu-ray -- though since buying it I've yet to actually watch it. The last time I saw it was nearly a decade ago and I really can't remember much of the score. While I like aspects of it, it's sort of a Chinese food kind of like (not very substantial). Who really celebrates a 30th anniversary of such a thing? Oh, well.

Folks who have already out bought GIANT in less than 3 hours of it's release -- that's who.

Sorry, but this 80's stuff sells.

This is the era of '80s nostalgia, I guess. Maybe the mullet will make a comeback?

Also, there's the fans of John Carpenter's scores. They're out there.

I'm watching it on Blu-ray right now. Nice transfer. First time I'm seeing it fully letterboxed since 1986, and yeah, there's no mistaking, this has the look and sound of an '80s movie. And I've only now noticed the score is isolated in DTS 5.1

Looks like I'll finally be picking up Speed and Shaft (which, when inhabiting the same sentence, sound rather dirty razz).

It's amazing how tasty those ingredients sound, yet how ordinary the end results are. Not that the score isn't effective in the film and without a few moments of stand-alone merit, like the opening and closing cues, but still...

Sweet, nabbed me a BTiLC autograph. Can't wait to spin those beats. I still can't believe this got a reissue after all my recent musing over having missed out on the first one.

Big Trouble in Little China is a cornucopia of all that makes '80s cinema so fun and unique. You probably "had to be there" to fully appreciate it, and unless you were a neo maxi zoom dweebie, this score is 24k nostalgic gold.
