Oh, James. You had no way of knowing what a sad shock this would be for me. Years ago, I had the privilege and pleasure of knowing and working with Nick and his wife Nicky on a number of projects. The memory of the collaboration, ever fresh, is still one of the happiest experiences I ever had in this town. It's been a long time since I've seen them, but I always think of them as friends. In recent years, I got back in touch with Nicky at her Facebook page, and thanks to you I have just written her a message with my condolence. What a fine man Nick was, and what a fine legacy he's left, with his work, and with his family.

Peace.

Dear Preston, sorry to be the bringer of bad news in this instance. He must have been a hellofa nice guy and you are fortunate to have known and worked with him. Some of the documentaries he worked on were prime stuff, at a time when television seemed to be more... vibrant! Must give The Voyage of the Brigantine Yankee an airing tomorrow, by way of tribute.

James.

Yes, he was all of that, as is his widow Nicky. (Nick and Nicky -- what are the odds?) I'm glad you have access to some of his work you can enjoy.

Take care, my friend.
