You are also one of the greats, Mr. Cole.

One of the great Victor Young songs sung by the great Nat King Cole!

I have the theme for ABOUT MRS. LESLIE on a Victor Young Decca LP he did in the 1950s.

Do you know on which Victor Young Decca LP this theme can be found?
As far as I can see it, it is not on the more famous Victor Young Decca LPs "Cinema Rhapsodies", "Hollywood Rhapsodies" and"Night Magic" from the mid-50s and also not on the CD compilation "Cinema Rhapsodies: The Musical Genius of Victor Young".
There is one other Decca compilation with the title "Imagination" from 1956 on which there are also three Young tracks. Could it be that it is one of these tracks?

Stefan, I had to dig out my Victor Young LPs, guess I was mistaken, couldn't find it. Maybe age is catching up with me? smile

There are some songs written by Young and no film is mentioned. I often wondered if some of these themes are from films he scored? One song, RITA, may have been written for his wife whose name was RITA!

I do have a Decca 45 rpm single of Victor Young conducting THE PROUD AND PROFANE. I don't think it ever appeared on an LP.

Henry Mancini put together a medley of Victor Young's songs on one of his concert medley albums.
It includes When I Fall in Love, Love Letters (my personal favorite), Golden Earrings and Around the World, et. al.

A CD of this score is an instant buy for me, too.

I bought this LP when it came out in the 1960s, always enjoyed the Victor Young suite. Mancini said he meet Victor Young and Young told Mancini he had a great gift for melody and encouraged the very young composer.

I would love every score of Victor Young's career to be released, but what inspired me to post this thread was ABOUT MRS. LESLIE. That's the one I am pulling for right now. It should be there in the Paramount vault waiting to be rescued from the decay of time. Kritzerland or Intrada, can you come to the rescue?

Arrgh, would like to find a video and take the Leslie challenge. Looks like only full-screen public domain jobbies exist.

In 1

Bruce, if you're reading this then please consider a Victor Young Volume 3 which includes ABOUT MRS. LESLIE if possible.

I am waiting for the volume 3, too!

I'd be interested in a cd of this score. I really enjoyed the You Tube link to the theme.
