...your love life?

There are a lot of possibilities here. Is it Notorious or just for The Birds? Are you still in a Frenzy, or have you reached the age where you are having a little Trouble with Harry?

Amazing how many of his titles are either apt and/or hilarious (and some are downright rude) for various situations.

I'm afraid mine is (Self) "Sabotage."

I wasn't about to mention that one.

I had a student one semester who kept calling the film Rear End Window in his paper, which was bad enough but at one point he typed Window wrong and dropped the "N". Needless to say, Rear End Widow would be a whole different film.

If it's self-sabotage that also makes you the Saboteur.

Of course! This is why I never get to play "The Skin Game." (Now there's an obscure Hitch movie!)

Well, at least no one can Blackmail you for Easy Virtue. (I think this thread is going Downhill fast!)

Well, I CONFESS, it's hardly a PLEASURE GARDEN, or an ELASTIC AFFAIR.
I'd prefer WALTZES FROM VIENNA, but they give me VERTIGO.
I've been known to meet STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, but always end up in SUSPICION.

Actually, one of my favorite lines regarding a love life is from VERTIGO, when James Stewart asks Barbara Bel Geddes, "How's your love life, Midge?"

And she answers: "Oh, it's following a train of thought."

Of course, the context for that line of dialogue in VERTIGO is that they have been talking about the brassiere Midge is working on.

By the way, if you include the television shows Hitchcock directed you get a number of other interesting possibilities such as REVENGE, BREAKDOWN, POISON, WET SATURDAY (no comment), LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER, and (for fans of Catherine the Great) THE HORSEPLAYER.

VERTIGO

There's a couple lines in the movie that stick out for me. In the scene in Scotty's apartment, Novak has the line, "People shouldn't live alone," and Stewart replies, "Some people prefer it that way, you know."

Well, I'm one of those people. I've always lived alone and like Scotty always in an apartment. I've never been married, wanted kids or even to own my own house.

Now that I'm in my late fifties, though, I find myself haunted like Scotty, but by the ghosts of girlfriends past, mostly those I knew in my twenties, the ones that wanted to get married, have kids, and buy a house, and I wonder how things would have gone if I'd made different choices.

But then I remember how much I prefer to be alone. Even if I had gotten married and had kids and a house, I know I'd have wanted someplace to escape to. I'm just one of those solitary animals.

Mrs TG's given name is Rebecca, so that has to be the answer. Happily, my birthday is early January, so Under Capricorn also applies.
