This is driving me nuts... 25 seconds into this video of Texas A&M's commencement exercises is a snippet of a tune that sounds familiar, but I just can't place it. Help?! Thanks!

Yes, it's very familiar, I've heard the piece many times, but.... I don't know what it is.

Is it possible that it isn't a classical piece at all, but a theme from a television show? It is driving me crazy!

Actually it's both. The classical piece is "Procession of the Nobles" from the opéra-ballet "Mlada" by Rimsky-Korsakov. A portion of the piece was used as the theme for a news discussion program in the Washington D.C area originally called "Agronsky and Company." The show was syndicated nationally by Post-Newsweek to local and national stations, including those of the PBS nationwide. After the retirement of host Martin Agronsky, the show changed its name to "Inside Washington." The show ran for 44 years on various stations. The section that became the show's opening theme song can be heard from 0:31-1:00 in the clip below.

BINGO!! I actually woke up this morning half-remembering that it was used to open some kind of political show, and you nailed it. Agronsky and Company! Of course! Thank you for putting me out of my misery!
