Here's a classic soundtrack which numbered among my early purchases as a neophyte film music collector. I'm really happy to have the Raine rerecording and the Intrada complete releases, but that initial soundtrack is just a damn fine record. It just hits and keeps on going, awesome cue after awesome cue. There is something to be said for edited film score releases if done as good as this. The first 2 Star Trek movie scores also had this razor-sharp focus, and I'm glad that Intrada and many other labels now include the original assemblies with their deluxe releases. Anyways...

Since I was in Conan mode, I slapped together Conan the Destroyer and Conan the Barbarian 3D as well. Destroyer is totally charming. The Tyler Bates score is all over the place, but it's not unlistenable. I just wish it was a bit more focused...
