Patrick Doyle:
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
and
Igor
are both about mad scientists creating life by re-animating dead corpses.
James Bernard: Some Hammer
Draculas
and later wrote a score for the earlier silent movie
Nosferatu: A Symphony Of Horrors
.
Marco Beltrami:
Dracula 2000
and
Underworld: Evolution
are about vampires.
Mark Isham:
Gracie
and
The Express: The Ernie Davis Story
are both sports films about soccer.
Ramin Djawadi:
Iron Man
and
Pacific Rim
both involve people inside metal suits of armour to defeat an enemy.
Edit: Just seen Thor's post above, so maybe only my first couple of suggestions are appropriate, with the others being too loosely connected.

I'm not sure if miniseries count, but Trevor Jones scored the Arthurian myth with Excalibur and Merlin.
While not the main focus of the film, he also did that in
The Mighty
.

You could also argue that he (John Williams) scored two films about terrorist attacks (BLACK SUNDAY and MUNICH).
make that 3...WAR OF THE WORLDS.
Who says that terrorists have to be only from Earth to terrorize people on Earth.
Furthermore, I fell that some of the action cues on WOTW is reminiscent of Williams' 70's sound, particularly in BLACK SUNDAY.
